Roma Downey Engaged

November 2006--Actress Roma Downey, best known to TV viewers as a messenger of God in the long-running series "Touched By An Angel," was in seventh heaven when her beau of the past three years, "Survivor" creator Mark Burnett, asked for her hand in marriage over the 2006 Thanksgiving holiday weekend.

The promise of their new life together began as the prospective groom knelt before his bride-to-be on the golden sands of Zihuatanejo, the sleepy fishing village on the Mexican Riviera which movie buffs will recall as paradise found for the hero of the 1994 motion picture classic "The Shawshank Redemption."

While a wedding date has not been announced, the couple plan to walk down the aisle in the coming year.
