February 2006 --
Memories of her mother, the late
June Carter Cash, accompanied singer Carlene Carter as her
February 4, 2006 wedding ceremony to Joe Brown began at Cinnamon
Hill, a Jamaica estate upon which June and her husband Johnny
Cash once lived.
The melodious music
of a violin and flute harmonized with the playful splash of
a waterfall as the bride, clutching a bouquet of red roses,
began to make her way down the aisle, the sweeping train of
her ivory beaded gown grazing the carpet of orchid petals which
led to her intended.
According to the
Jamaica Observer, following the nuptials, guests at the
15th hole on the golf course of The Ritz-Carlton Golf and Spa
Resort raised their Waterford crystal glasses in toasts to the
happy couple as they dined on such culinary creations as Caribbean
Lobster Tail Amusebouche, grouper and Beef Wellington at tables
adorned with native floral finery.
Before the festivities
concluded, the newlyweds cut slices of a chocolate wedding cake
fashioned in the shape of "Mother" Maybelle Carter's
autoharp, a loving tribute to a circle which remains unbroken.
