Halloween
Weddings in Las Vegas
Getting married can be a scary
experience
why not make it a fun one as well? Halloween ranks as
one of the most popular days of the year to wed in Las Vegas (Valentines
Day and New Years Eve take the top spots.)
And no where in Las Vegas will you find Halloween playing a bigger nuptial
role than at Viva Las Vegas Wedding Chapel. The chapel is the creation
of Ron DeCar, who has turned two decades of experience singing in the
Strips shows into professionally orchestrated weddings that range
from traditional to themed. DeCar does one of the citys best Elvis
weddings but, this time of year, its Halloween thats The King
here.
Halloween is very extravagant here, notes Hope Wiggins, chapel
manager for Viva Las Vegas. "Its
Rons favorite holiday so we do it up. We do all the weddings in
a graveyard scene." Couples
can even have the Grim Reaper perform the ceremony.
Halloween
Packages
Viva Las Vegas offers several Halloween packages, depending on your tastes.
The Gothic theme wedding offers you the option of a ceremony performed
by the Grim Reaper or Count Dracula; the chapel itself is transformed
into a foggy graveyard.
More interested in Dracula? The Dracula wedding package includes
touches like black roses, tombstones, and more. Or how about a little
outdoor fright? The Ghoulish Gazebo Wedding takes place outdoors beneath
a frighteningly lit gazebo.
Cult movie fans will have to check out the Rocky Horror Wedding Package showcasing Minister Frankenfurter (not to mention RiffRaff, Majenta, and
other characters). Frankenfurter sings I am just a Sweet Transvestite
for the wedding opening, followed by "There's a Light in the Frankfurter
Castle" during the lighting of the unity candle. You and your guests
(encourage them to come in costum e!)
can rock out to "Time Warp" after you say your I dos.
Of course, since this is Las Vegas, even Elvis has to make an appearance.
Only on Halloween Eve, you can book the Elvis and Demons in the Diner
Package, taking place in the 50s diner (right) at Viva Las Vegas.
Viva Las Vegas is also home to Ron DeCars Viva Las Vegas Hotel,
which offers many themed rooms. In fact, if the two of you book a Gothic
wedding, you can opt to spend your wedding night in the Gothic Themed
room, complete with a double coffin bed, blood red velvet and satin accessories,
and even a coffin-shaped tub.
