The Ceremony: Etheridge and Michaels exchanged vows only hours after governor Gray Davis signed a new piece of legislation allowing same-sex couples to register as domestic partners in the state of California. It was a
star-studded event, attended by the likes of Steven Spielberg, Tom Hanks, Al and Tipper Gore, and Jennifer Aniston.

The Dress: Michaels wore a white gown with a lace coat. Etheridge wore a beaded linen jacket and slacks.

Special Moments: Though same-sex marriage is not legal in California, the couple declared their ceremony a wedding, and exchanged platinum and diamond bands.
