52708: Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon's Post-Wedding Party at Magic Mountain

On top of the world since their April 30th I do's, newlyweds Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon's love literally reached new heights on May 13, 2008 as they climbed aboard the Tatsu roller coaster at Six Flags Magic Mountain. At a speed of 62 mph, the joyous screams of the multi-Grammy winner, her "Dream Lover" and their friends echoed throughout the Valencia, California theme park as they plummeted 17 stories during the two minute thrill ride.

People magazine online reports that a banner emblazoned with the words "Mariah and Nick: A Love Story" greeted the lovebirds at the Grand Carousel, where the newly-dubbed Mrs. let her inner child out to play among the hand-carved horses as 100 friends sipped Chardonnay and Hess Cabernet Sauvignon and enjoyed cupcakes adorned with chanteuse's signature symbol, butterflies.

A private party, the lavender and pink balloons that lent an extra touch of flirtatious fun to the couple's fete were but a memory when the park reopened to the public the following day.

52608: British "Bachelor" Engaged

A bouquet of 25 beauties vied for the affections of Matt Grant, but on the May 12, 2008 finale of The Bachelor: London Calling it was revealed that a true romance has blossomed between the global financier and actress Shayne Dahl Lamas, who was the recipient not only of the coveted final rose, but also her love's heart.

From the 3.5-carat, emerald cut stunner that graces the hand of Grey's Anatomy's Ellen Pompeo to the platinum and diamond eternity band former Roswell star Jason Behr presented to Private Practice cast member KaDee Strickland, celebrities often turn to Tacori for their engagement rings. The British bachelor was no exception, bending on one knee and opening a box from the famed jewelry house which contained a 2.85-carat, platinum and diamond eternity ring crowned with a round-cut diamond-- ice priced at $60,000, according to Entertainment Tonight.

While the couple has decided to simply enjoy their new betrothed status and will let the future decide when the time is right to walk down the aisle, fans of Lorenzo Lamas' daughter can catch a sneak peek of the bride-to-be posing with a poesy and wedding veil in the pages of an upcoming issue of Girls Gone Wild magazine.

52508: Wayne Rooney's Bride-To-Be Enjoys Bachelorette Party

The industrialized idylls that cover the canvases of famed artist L.S.Lowry have been muses for the music of Oasis, the cinematic landscape of a Terry Gilliam-directed movie and Manchester, England's five-star urban utopia The Lowry Hotel, which recently welcomed Coleen McLoughlin, fiancee of footballer Wayne Rooney, as she said so long to the single life with a weekend-long bachelorette bash. 52408: Matthew McConaughey's Stay in a Massachusetts Inn

Although it may not have been cast as a cinematic backdrop for the romantic comedy Ghosts of Girlfriends Past, the Country Garden Inn & Spa nevertheless played a pivotal role in bringing the upcoming February 2009 flick to the silver screen. During production of the movie, the Newbury Port News reports that, following a long day spent on the set, nature-loving luminary Matthew McConaughey would unwind amid the verdant beauty of the Rowley, Massachusetts venue, which offers accommodations inside a 1901 farmhouse, a carriage house adorned with Laura Ashley fabrics, a cozy motel featuring private patios and fireplaces, and a collection of country collection suites, village suites, cottages and townhouses.

Before leaving the Old Colony State, the former recipient of People magazine's Sexiest Man Alive title was Bean Town bound in early May. According the the Boston Herald, the Hollywood hunk was spotted at the Hotel Commonwealth, a 150-room retreat in Kenmore Square. An upscale sanctuary for baseball buffs, patrons staying at the hotel can almost hear the crack of the bat as the boys of summer play ball at Fenway Park, located just moments away.

52308: Jenna Bush's Wedding

Just as the sunrise over Acadia National Park in Maine marked the start of their journey toward a lifetime together in August 2007, sunset saw the fruition of that promise as Jenna Bush and Henry Hager were pronounced husband and wife on May 10, 2008. Approximately 200 friends and family members blessed the couple with their presence, rising from the rows of white chairs situated on the grounds of the Prairie Chapel Ranch in Crawford, Texas as the 43rd President of the United States, like any other proud papa on his daughter's wedding day, walked his little girl down the aisle.

All eyes were on the bride in her Oscar de la Renta silk organza gown, the garment's beauty enhanced with the addition of quartz earrings from Anthony Nak and the dainty white flowers which she had gathered in her hair. Clutching her bouquet, she smiled at her mother (who had donned a turquoise blue dress by the same designer ) as she continued down the path which led her to a limestone altar crowned with a 4-foot tall cross, where her love waited to make her his bride.

Following the ceremony, in which the First Daughter received a wedding band to accompany her diamond and sapphire engagement ring, guests convened to a tent erected on the property, where 14 attendants in multi-colored Lela Rose chiffon creations and the maid of honor-- wearing a pale blue gown with a metallic sheen that mirrored the moonlight rising overhead-- sat at tables draped with mint green tablecloths and sampled slices of a four-tier wedding cake adorned with lavender, blue and white blossoms. The sounds of The Tyrone Smith Revue got the party going, but one tune tugged at the heartstrings of all in attendance as President Bush led his daughter out on to the dance floor as the the Joe Cocker classic "You Are So Beautiful" began to play.

52208: Gwyneth Paltrow in The Eternal City

Gazing down from a stone monument which guards over Rome's Piazza Campo de' Fiori, the ever-watchful eyes of the 16th century philosopher Giordano Bruno bore witness on May 8, 2008 as production assistants made last minute preparations for statuesque silver screen beauty Gwyneth Paltrow's appearance in an ad for the Italian brand Tods. Walking in a pair of high-rise heels, the Academy Award winner's footsteps echoed on the piazza's cobblestones which lead to an open air market, where six days a week locals and tourists alike can purchase produce and bouquets of blossoms-- fragrant reminders of the days long ago, when the area was a field of flowers (hence the name Campo de' Fiori).

Currently riding high on the box office success of Iron Man, People magazine online reports that the Academy Award winner had also donned a pair of seductive stilettos in the Eternal City the day before, looking red carpet ready in a curvaceous creation by Herve Leroux (formerly known as Herve Leger).

52108: Jenna Bush's Pre-Wedding Festivities

Guarding over the ever-flowing waters of Salado Creek, the statue of a mermaid christened Sirena has seen a steady stream of tourists over the years cross over the Main Street Bridge in Salado in search of an elusive Roseville planter at one of the town's myriad antiques stores, an oil painting by a local artist in the town's art galleries or simply to wade in the refreshing waters of its bubbling brook. On May 9, 2008, however, Sirena was a silent witness to a historic event as Secret Service escorted the President of the Unites States across the bridge for a pre-wedding party in celebration of the First Daughter's impending I do's.

The Bridal Luncheon

Jenna Bush's pre-wedding festivities began with a bridal luncheon conducted at The Inn on the Creek, a Victorian era vision popular for romantic getaways. Family and friends sipped both champagne as well as tea and lemonade in order to combat the almost triple digit temperature before heading to the dining room for cake and to bestow gifts, the inn's owner recalls on the venue's official website. A 14-room retreat, guests can walk in the footsteps of the Bush family by booking a stay at either the Main Manor, Holland House or Giles-Kindred House, while those interested in entertaining in the style accustomed to the Bush family can order the inn's cook book, Salado Sunsets, which is filled with 100 signature recipes.

The Rehearsal Dinner

Attractions are only a short stroll away in this close-knit community, and the soon-to-be Mrs. Hager had only a few blocks to travel before meeting up with the groom and his family for a rehearsal dinner at Old Salado Springs Celebration Center and Retreat. Situated in a verdant landscape, the 5,000 square foot venue often echoes with the I do's of Hill Country couples.

Pre-Wedding Party

The Salado Silver Spur Theater often rings out with the applause of audiences as they take a nostalgic trip back in time to the days of vaudeville or the laughter of cinema buffs as they sing along with their favorite movie musicals during a special classic film festival. On the evening of May 9th, the converted stagecoach stop reverberated with words of congratulations as 200 friends and family members gathered for a Lone Star soiree.
