Real Life Wedding: Blair Burns and Jason Lewis
Destinations played a role in the romance of Blair Burns and Jason Lewis who are planning a Georgia wedding on April 1 (hey, no April Fool's jokes now!) We thought you'd like to read more about the romance, the upcoming wedding and honeymoon of this dynamic couple whose romance is chronicled on their wedding website, How they met Geography definitely played a part in the meeting of this couple. We met while Jason was on a business trip in Destin, Floridamy home at the time," recalls Blair. Jason also notes the role destinations played in the bringing together of these soulmates: Shes from a great family in Mississippi and I am a South Georgia Boy. She graduated from Ole Miss and Im a graduate of Kennesaw State University. Jason has lived in
Atlanta for 15 years, practicing business development for commercial
real estatethe last five with Yates Construction. Blair
has lived in Atlanta one year now and handles Business Development
for MACTEC Engineering. The
engagement
On July 4, 2005,
ten months after they met, the couple vacationed at Barnsley
Gardens Resort in Adairsville, Georgia. I started talking
about how romantic Barnsley Gardens was and what a neat place
to get engaged or married, when all of a sudden Jason pulled a
box out of his pocket and said, well how about it...will
you marry me? I dropped my spoon of key lime pie and said
are you kidding me? Along with their
love for each, this pair has plenty of other loves: We love
live music, deep sea fishing, golf, wine tasting, and hanging
out with our babies
I mean dogs. (Bernese Mountain
Dog, Beyla; Maltese, Casey; and a kitten named "skittums
kittums.") We both 'try' to play golf. Blairs
mom is a rep for Callaway golf, so we both look great
when we are playing. Those loves also extend
to travel. We vacation in the Georgia Mountains, Destin
and New Smyrna Beach, Florida," says the soon-to-be groom.
"We do both fish, deep sea and bass fishing. One of our first
dates was a deep sea fishing trip in Destin, Florida where Blair
out-fished me about 20-3. Local recreation also plays an
important part in their lives. We love hosting friends and
clients at our Chastain Table during the Atlanta Symphony summer
concert series, and at our seats for the Braves Games. The festivities will
begin before the wedding with plenty of regional partying. The
bachelor party is 22 guys going to Saint Simon's, Georgia for
annual coastal cup golf tournament," says Blair. "The
bachelorette party is in Seagrove Beach, Florida and Destin, Florida.
Several girls are staying in an ocean front condo doing the beach
thing, having a lingerie shower and then getting a limo for some
nighttime activities. The
Wedding
The big day is fast approaching with the wedding planned for April 1 at Peachtree Road United Methodist Church. The couple is expecting 300 guests from an invite list of approximately 500. The guest list turns this into a vacation for many. Blair explains that they plan to seemy family from Memphis, Tennessee, Southaven, Mississippi and Chattanooga, Tennessee. Jasons family is from South Georgia, so a lot of our guests are from out of town. We have several friends and business associates from Atlanta that will be there as well. Before the couple
weds, they will hold the rehearsal dinner at Anthonys
then immediately following the wedding, the couple is hosting
a reception at the Cherokee
Town Club. The wedding plans
include a garter belt for Blair made from her mother's wedding
veil. Their parents' influences will also be heard at the wedding
as well.'Surely the Presence' is being sung, which was sung
at both of our parents' weddings, says Blair. After the Wedding The couple is honeymooning
for one week in St. Lucia at the Ti
Kaye Caribbean Beachside Resort. According to Blair, We
plan to do some deep sea fishing and snorkeling on the honeymoon. As they begin the next phase of their life together, Blair says, We are buying a house in Sagamore Hills, which is another old neighborhood close to Emory University. Jason found the house riding around one day. It was built in the early 60s but has been completely renovated. It sits on a large, partially wooded lot on the same street as the neighborhood elementary school. It has a lot of character and beautiful upgrades. |
