Romantics with a love for retro can take a walk down memory lane at a display of wedding wear worn for yesteryear’s walks down the aisle.
While time may have altered tastes in ceremony styles, love is the common thread which binds bridal attire from as far back as the 19th century to today’s fans of fashion, who are currently flocking to the Wethersfield Museum at the Keeney Memorial Cultural Center in Wethersfield, Connecticut to view the vintage visions in the exhibition Wethersfield Weddings: Tying the Knot.
Along with the 19 nuptially-themed numbers (bridal party and going away looks included) which range in age from 1837 to 1967, admirers of all things “I do” are also cordially invited to enjoy an up close look at the invitations, announcement cards, trousseaux, wedding gifts and photos which forever hold happy moments from the past.
Unveiled on September 13th, Wethersfield Weddings: Tying the Knot continues through March 2013.
