Reality TV-watching romantics are invited to say “Yes” to wedding day excess as TLC unveils season two of My Big Fat Gypsy Wedding.
Seven hour-long episodes will shine a spotlight on the landmark moments in the lives of young gypsy and traveller women, from first communion to their walk down the aisle.
In episode one viewers will witness the vows of 21-year-old Irish traveler Dolores, who commissions a palm tree and pineapple pre-wedding party dressed and a feline-inspired frock for her I do’s–designs created by traveler wedding wear creator Thelma Madine, the author of Tales of the Gypsy Wedding Dressmaker, a just-released, behind the ‘seams’ look at her gypsy bridal business.
The season’s first episode also focuses on Sammi Jo, an Irish traveller whose dreams of walking down the aisle has been prefaced by the possibility of walking on stage in a gypsy and traveler beauty pageant, and Nangirl, Margaret and Bridgit– cousins competing to be the most beautiful on their day of their first holy communion.
Narrated by Ellen K (co-host of On-Air with Ryan Seacrest), the second season of My Big Fat Gypsy Wedding premieres on TLC on March 23, 2012 at 10 p.m. ET.
