It took just three-and-a-half minutes for Lady Diana Spencer to walk down the aisle of St. Paul’s cathedral and straight into the hearts of people around the world, and 30 years later royal watchers can relive the romance of time’s most treasured wedding day when Diana: A Celebration arrives at in Minneapolis/St. Paul, Minnesota in early 2012.
Chronicling the life of the Princess of Wales through more than 150 of her personal possessions, after lingering among cherished childhood belongings visitors will view Diana’s transformation from private citizen to princess as they are drawn toward the ensemble she wore on the day she exchanged vows with Prince Charles, including the heart-accentuated Clive Shilton slippers which bore the bride to the altar, her heirloom Spencer tiara and the iconic Emanual wedding dress– its 10,000 pearl and mother of pearl sequin accents sparkling beneath the lights in the fourth level of the Mall of America.
Her prominence in the public’s eye showcased in 28 designer dresses, Diana’s charity work takes center stage in the exhibition before memories of her passing remind visitors of a light in the world which was extinguished much too soon.
Diana: A Celebration will be at the Mall of America in Bloomington, Minnesota from February 4, 2012 through June 10, 2012.
