Las Vegas may be known as the Wedding Capital of the World, but when it comes to unique unions New Orleans, deemed the “Romance Capital of the World,” just might take the proverbial wedding cake.
Whether it’s a superhero-inspired ceremony, a twosome who wants to tie the knot with a toga party theme, an alligator-accented walk down the aisle for a swamp ceremony or voodoo I do’s, the staff at the French Quarter Wedding Chapel are married to the motto “laissez les bon temps rouler.”
Beginning August 21, 2011, WE tv unveils its new original reality series Big Easy Brides, an eight-episode look at couples’ looks of love as they celebrate their NOLA nuptials at the only wedding chapel in the French Quarter.
Walking viewers through the walks down the aisle will be Tony, aka the “Reverend of Romance,” who has officiated over more than 10,000 I do’s; Tony’s wife Lou Ann, who helps to manage all the maritally-minded mayhem; Maria, a wedding coordinator with a no-nonsense nuptial attitude; Dana, who provides the soundtrack to ceremonies as the chapel musician; Mia, a wedding photographer who captures the quirky vow exchanges for posterity; and Gino, a former wrestler who keeps the peace both before and after “let them speak now, or forever hold their peace” is recited by the reverend.
Big Easy Brides premieres August 21, 2011 at 10 p.m. ET
