"Diana: A Celebration" Exhibition Opens in Philadelphia

On display at the National Constitution Center in Philadelphia from October 2 - December 31, 2009, Diana: A Celebration offers an intimate portrait of the Princess of Wales. From cherished childhood toys to her charity work, and ultimately to the messages of condolence and the comforting lyrics of the song performed when the world said goodbye to the Queen of people's hearts, visitors can stroll through nine galleries containing more than 150 mementos of one of the most intriguing lives of modern times.
At the exhibition, romantics can relive the moment when the 20-year-old bride stepped inside St. Paul's Cathedral in a pair of silk slippers which carried the People's Princess down the aisle as the light danced on the diamonds on the Spencer tiara, which sparkles in its display case just as it did on July 29, 1981. Its beauty like a beacon to wedding watchers, the David and Elizabeth Emanuel gown takes center stage in the collection-- its 25 ft. train, 10,000 pearls and mother of pearl sequins and heirloom Carrickmacross lace still retaining its regal glory.
Tourists traveling to Philadelphia for the exhibition should explore the option of the Diana VIP Hotel Package, which includes two un-timed tickets to Diana: A Celebration and hotel amenities for either a one or two-night stay at select hotels.
When: October 2 - December 31, 2009
Where: National Constitution Center at 5th and 6th and Arch Streets in Philadelphia
