Vera Wang doesn’t have to just be part of your bridal ensemble…her work can head off on your honeymoon as well with a line of contemporary handbags and small leather goods as part of The Vera Wang Lavender Label Collection.
Retail pricing of the collection will range from $300 to $1,000, and distribution will follow that of Lavender Label apparel, sold through top-tier department and specialty stores.
The Vera Wang Lavender Label handbag collection will have a feel and tone similar to the Lavender Label apparel collection: whimsical, fun, youthful and flirty. Since its launch in 2005, the label has succeeded in delivering a line of clothing that focuses on modern, feminine pieces with a retro edge.
The launch date for the new collection is set for Spring 2009.
The new handbag lines joins a long list of other Vera Wang options: fragrance and beauty-related products (Coty Prestige, Inc.), eyewear (Couteur Designs, a division of the Kenmark Group), china, crystal, silver and gifts (Wedgwood), Vera Wang suite (Halekulani Hotel), fine papers (William Arthur), intimate apparel (Charles Komar & Sons) and mattresses (Serta Mattress Company). In addition, Vera Wang on Weddings was published by Harper Collins in 2001. In 2007, the company partnered with Kohl’s to launch Simply Vera Wang.
