Cyber Monday

Well, we read for the first time that today's Cyber Monday. That's a new term on us but it turns out that it's an internet version of Black Friday, a rush of shopping at the start of the holiday season.

We didn't do any online shopping ourselves today (that's the toughest part of self-employment: a boss that's always looking over your shoulder ;)

We have been working on adding some shopping items to Lovetripper, though, in anticipation of the rush. Actually the latest one came about completely by accident. You might have noticed the ads here and there for yournovel.com . We got an email the other day from fellow travel writers Kathy M. Newbern and J.S. Fletcher; they'd seen an article of ours on Malta in an onboard cruise magazine that included an article they'd written. We traveled with Kathy and Fletch a few years ago on a great Canadian train trip and have stayed in touch with them since then.

Along with travel writing, Kathy and Fletch have a great second line; they produce personalized romance novels. You provide the details (your names, your eye color, hair color, pet names, etc.) and they produce the romance novel. It's a great way to enjoy a little armchair travel (the books are set everywhere from Rome to Tahiti) and romance at the same time. We ordered one and we're waiting for it now...we got an email notice that the book had gone through production so it should be here anytime now...

On a less romantic note, we are down to the very last of the Thanksgiving turkey! It was just the two of us for Thanksgiving this year but we bought a 15-pound bird (what were we thinking??!) After turkey fajitas, turkey with Thai hot sauce, and turkey sandwiches, we're on the final stretch...
