The Destination Wedding Workbook

Dear Readers,

We love destination weddings. Maybe it's the opportunity for everyone to come together in one location and celebrate the love of the lucky couple. Maybe it's the chance to see friends and family in a fun destination without the everyday concerns and schedules that make attending a traditional wedding a challenge in these busy days.

This month, we had the chance to attend a destination wedding in Waco, Texas. Our relatives from across Texas and New Mexico gathered in this central city to celebrate the wedding of Jason, one of our New Mexico relatives, and Lauren at Waco's Baylor University. The event became a weekend wedding, with guests driving and flying in throughout the day Friday, enjoying each other's company at a rehearsal dinner on Friday night, and planning activities together on Saturday before the late afternoon ceremony.

Like many other young couples, Jason and Lauren chose to marry at their alma mater. This university, however, offers a venue that's a match made in heaven for romantics: the Armstrong Browning Library. This facility features a collection of the works of the queen and king of romance: Elizabeth Barrett Browning and Robert Browning. The couple's personal items, a collection of their works, and stained glass windows inspired by their poems fill the elegant library which, on that Saturday, reverberated with the sound of wedding music. Elizabeth and Robert would have been pleased.

During November we also started making our holiday preparations, both at home and at Lovetripper. Along with preparing some holiday articles for our readers who are looking for romantic places to spend the holidays, we also enjoyed some local festivals to ring in the season.

Whether you and yours stay at home or explore new destinations during this holiday season, make it a romantic holiday!

Happy travels, Paris and John
