Romantic Vegas Hotels Off the Strip Although Las Vegas is best known for the glitzy casino hotels on Las Vegas Boulevard, you'll find many romantic hotels off the Strip as well (and sometimes at better prices). By no means an exhaustive list, here's a choice of some of our picks for most romantic hotels off the Strip: Golden Nugget Known as the most elegant of the downtown hotels, this 1805-room casino hotel is a AAA Four Diamond property and known for its style, from its crystal chandeliers to its fine marble. The hotel has several romantic features as well such as a spa and dates back to the days of old Las Vegas, first opening its doors in 1946. Hard Rock Hotel and Casino Take a Hard Rock restaurant--the noise, the hustle, the bustle--and put it on steroids and you come up with the Hard Rock Hotel. Not our favorite, it is loved by its devotees, however. The Joint hosts top names in an intimate venue. Las Vegas Hilton Close to the convention center and just off the Strip, this hotel is a little more business-oriented than some on the Strip but still a good option. Hey, it was, after all, Elvis's home away from home during his Vegas days. Today it's home to the Star Trek Experience, a must for Trekkies (and even a wedding venue!) Main Street Station This 406-room hotel has a Victorian era theme and a few years ago underwent an extensive upgrade. Youll see Victorian touches everywhere, from sconces to rich paneling. The rooms continue the decorating scheme with gold framed mirrors, white window shutters, and rich woods. Youre free to wander through the hotel for a self-guided look at the many antiques that have been collected here including Buffalo Bill Codys private rail car and a fireplace from Scotlands Preswick Castle. The hotel's most romantic feature is its proximity to the Fremont Street Experience The Palms Resort and Casino The place to see and be seen, The Palms attracts a cool crowd. Home of the "Real World" suite (as well as the suite where Britney Spears spent her short-lived wedding night), the hotel is favored for its nightlife. It's home of Rain nightclub and Ghost Bar, located on the 55th floor with a great view of the Strip. The hotel also hosts many bachelorette parties.
Rio All-Suites Hotel and Casino The Rio is especially known for its large guest suites: each 600 square feet with a refrigerator, coffee maker, iron and ironing board, and blow dryer. The rooms, each with views of the city, include a separate dressing area, a couch, and plenty of elbow room for the family. The floor to ceiling windows are especially impressive and make everyone feel like a high roller. We especially like the Ipanema Beach, an expansive pool complex with a real sand beach, four swimming pools, five spas, and, of special interest to families, lifeguard service. Poolside services make parents feel extra pampered: order a drink or food or even a massage. Private poolside cabanas are also available for rent, an especially nice feature to take a break from that desert sun. At night, don't miss the Carnaval parade (you can even buy a spot in one of the floats) then head up to the rooftop's Voodoo Lounge for an unbeatable view of the Strip. And, if you're looking for a place for a bachelorette party, the Rio is one of the city's best venues. It's home of the Sky Lounge, with special conversation areas perfect for you and your friends, bathrooms with extra large makeup areas, and, last but not least, is home of the Chippendales Theater.
