at the championship level Sandpiper golf course, which has challenged
participants in both PGA and LPGA tournaments. (The verdant landscape
became actor John O'Hurley's fairway to heaven when he chose the
playing field as his wedding locale.) The equally impressive 18-hole
Glen Annie course is located two miles from the resort, and like

trails (graded beginner to expert) on The Ranch, testing your
skills on one of four clay tennis courts or joining in on a refined
game of champagne croquet in the garden, the healing hands of
skilled technicians await you in the 36 treatment rooms at The
Spa at Bacara, which offers a wide range of rejuvenating treatments,
including shiatsu massage, aromatherapy massage, and healing stone

Romantic Dining: Original
Joan Miro sculptures set a surrealistic stage for a Mediterranean-influenced
dining experience at Miro, christened after the legendary Spanish
artist. The passionate works of art on display are complemented
by such culinary masterpieces as breast of duck with Swiss chard,
artisan foie gras with Monterey squid, grapes and verjus, and
oak grilled lamb chops with aged sherry. As you enjoy your meal,
toast to your love with one of the 12,000 bottles of spirits stored
in the wine cellar.
For California cuisine at its finest, sample the grilled wild
king salmon or the lemon-oregano crusted rack of lamb served at
The Bistro, a 320-seat restaurant which offers a romantic ocean
view.
The Spa Cafe provides a sumptuous repast in a relaxed setting,
with outdoor seating offering a view of the rimless pool, as well
as indoor tables for those looking for a brief respite from the
California sunshine.
Weddings: The rush of ocean
waves in the background seem to applaud as couples are pronounced
husband and wife amid displays of kaleidoscopic floral beauty
in the garden, which can accommodate 50-800 guests. Attendees
converge at the Spanish Colonial Ballroom for a reception where
they dine on such succulent fare as Russian caviar, Italian white
truffle risotto and pepper crusted beef tenderloin, catered by
the resort.
