Lovebirds looking to add a few chills to the thrill of their romance this Halloween can book a room with a “Boo” at Carolina Inn.
Until his passing in 1965, the inn was home to Dr. William Jacocks– a kindly physician with a frightfully funny sense of humor who loved to keep friends “in stitches” with riddles and jokes. Today he may be an invisible entity, but the charming doctor’s love for the inn at Chappel HIll, North Carolina is still apparent. His playful presence has been noticed by guests over the years, and a ghost hunting investigation of the specter’s serene sanctuary revealed the sound of a phantom’s footsteps, an ethereal orb floating in the rooms, the imprinted memory of musical notes from a piano lingering momentarily in the atmosphere, and the whispered echo of words from a voice stilled long ago.
Valid for October 31, 2010 only, patrons with a penchant for the paranormal can book the Evening with Dr. Jacocks Package, with includes accommodations for one night and dinner for two at Crossroads Restaurant. Starting at $209, the rate does not include tax and service charge.
