Top Five Best Dressed at The 2009 Latin Grammy Awards

The 10th Annual Latin Grammy Awards were handed out on November 5, 2009 at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas. Here's Lovetripper's picks for the looks mas linda on the green carpet:

1) As the Cirque du Soleil troupe Le Reve performed in the background, it was only fitting that songbird Laura Pausini donned a dream dress for the occasion. Clinging to the bodice of the dove gray silk chiffon creation by Giorgio Armani (who also designed the black ensemble worn for her pre-show appearance on the green carpet), Swarovski crystals twinkled like stars in the lights of the Mandalay Bay Events Center as an acrobatic angel lifted the Latin Grammy winner into the heavens as the final notes of the singer's single "En Cambio Yo" played.

2) Marlene Favela, who starred in the telenovela Rubi, looked glamorous in a garnet gown designed by David Salomon. Coiffed by Javier de la Rosa, Univision reports, the actress's long locks were an homage to Old Hollywood, helping the star secure second place in our style stakes.

3) A former Miss Universe, Venezuelan TV presenter Barbara Palacios was a vision in this smoke gray silhouette:

"American Idol" Contestant Jason Castro Reportedly Engaged

Although season 7 American Idol finalist Jason Castro is currently promoting "Let's Fall In Love Again", his just-released single from his forthcoming debut CD, the reality personality has yet another reason to feel like singing, as Mandy Mayhall has promised to be his bride.

Dressed as Beauty and The Beast for Halloween, the performer proposed in true fairytale fashion, on bended knee prior to the Oklahoma-Kansas State football game in Norman, Oklahoma, according to several sources including AceShowbiz, Examiner and AI Now. Although words did not fail him as he asked for his love's hand in marriage, the words "Marry me?"-- carved into a pumpkin at the event-- helped to bring the happiness of the moment home.

While cameras captured the occasion for posterity, the prospective groom and his bride-to-be have yet to publicly discuss their betrothed status or any details of their impending I do's.

"Big Brother" Stars Mikey Dalton and Grace Adams-Short Marry

The cameras have chronicled the love story of reality TV romantics Mikey Dalton and Grace Adams-Short since their appearance on Big Brother in 2006, and on October 17, 2009 the lens captured the happiest moment of their lives as they were pronounced husband and wife at Langdon Court.

Fans who flocked in front of the television set to watch the future Mrs. Dalton mull over "I do" details on Celebrity Brides Unveiled and Help! I Need A Wedding Entertainer will witness the bride walk down the aisle in a dream dress on an upcoming episode of Wedding TV. In a pre- "I do" interview with The Plymouth Herald , the reality personality confided that the creation was the work of designer Eric Way, and that her bridesmaids would don wardrobe purchased from Plympton's The Wedding Company.

Celebrities Attend Grand Opening of Moroccan Resort

Even the most jaded jet-setter could not help but be impressed by the exotic elements the Kerzner Mazagan Beach Resort in El Jadida, Morocco had in store for the array of A-listers welcomed to its grand opening celebration on October 31, 2009.

A red carpet stretched out beneath the stars provided a path for a plethora of paparazzi magnets upon their arrival, including Naomi Watts and Liev Schreiber, Gerard Butler, Lindsay Lohan and Duran Duran frontman Simon Le Bon and his wife Yasmin. The gathering of glitterati walked to the rhythm of a band of drummers, the exotic beat quickening pulses as 1,500 movie stars, musicians and models mingled among presentations of more than 300 traditional folk troops, horses garbed in national thourida costumes, snake charmers and fire breathers who, along with the glow of 10,000 candles, illuminated the famous faces as they turned their eyes heavenward and watched a fireworks display. Love was in the air as 100 singles in search of a soul mate boarded an Air NZ matchmaking flight from Los Angeles to Auckland in mid-October. However, two passengers were already paired off-- The Bachelor's Jason Mesnick and Molly Malaney, who were returning to relive the magic of the land that captured both of their hearts during the November 2008 filming of the ABC reality series.

Already comfortable in front of the camera due to their shared experience on the 13th season of The Bachelor, the happy couple's romantic getaway to Queenstown, which included a flight to Milford Sound with The Helicopter Line, a ride on Shotover Jet and skydiving with NZONE, was captured on film by Tourism NZ for future viewing by the fans who followed their televised love story.

After a stay at Eichardt's Private Hotel in the city's center, the pair found themselves back at the retreat where Mesnick's heart momentarily misled him into choosing another. Rectifying the wrong, on October 20, 2009 at the Kohara Lodge the bachelor slipped a diamond and platinum engagement ring into a glass of celebratory champagne,

Ivanka Trump's Second Wedding Reception

Just days after saying "I do," newlyweds Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner once again gathered with family to celebrate their new marital status with a second reception.

According to People magazine, the newly dubbed Mrs. donned a demure, champagne-hued creation for the Sheva Brachot blessing, which was held by her new in-laws at the Puck Building in New York City on October 28, 2009. Family and friends feasted on a repast of Kosher food as well as such fare as hamburgers, hotdogs, sushi and salad before savoring a buffet of delectable desserts including chocolate cakes, brownies and raspberry sorbet.

The bride and groom danced the Horah during an evening filled with smiles and songs, which included the contemporary classic "In My Life" by The Beatles-- its lyrics, ending with "in my life, I love you more" seeming to sum up the happy occasion.

His search for a soul mate on the 2007 reality TV series Age of Love may have been unsuccessful, but Australian tennis ace Mark Philippoussis' romance in the real world with actress Jennifer Esposito, a costar on the recently cancelled comedy series Samantha Who?, has become a true love match.

Keeping their status a cherished secret since the summer of 2009, the couple's betrothal has only recently come to light, People magazine reports. The bride-to-be, who was previously married to actor Bradley Cooper, and the sports star have yet to give details about their impending I do's.

"Mad Men" Star Elizabeth Moss Marries

A betrothal in January led to a jaunt down the aisle at The Foundry, a 19th century events venue in Long Island City, New York on October 25, 2009, US magazine reported. Family and friends were on hand to watch the bride walk down the aisle in a creation by designer Claire Pettibone.

Ivanka Trump's Wedding

"Just finished a gorgeous hike. The leaves are spectacular and the sun is shining. Everything is simply perfect! I'm getting married today!" Ivanka Trump Tweeted to her Twitter followers just hours before her walk down the aisle. No doubt the sunlight danced on the facets of the bride's 5.22-carat cushion-cut diamond engagement ring, which was joined by a wedding band later that day as the businesswoman and boardroom judge of The Celebrity Apprentice and New York Observer owner Jared Kushner, her fiance since July 2009, were pronounced husband and wife on October 25, 2009.

Inspired by the quiet elegance of Grace Kelly, the bride was a vision in a Vera Wang creation as she made her grand entrance, People magazine reported. The sparkle of a $90,000 platinum and diamond bracelet, $130,000 diamond and platinum earrings and $45,000 platinum and diamond hairpiece adding an extra glint of glamor as she strolled past a gathering of the more than 500 guests who had received Tiffany's invitations, including friends who had attended her August 22nd bachelorette party along the Hudson River as well as such glitterati as Natalie Portman, Russell Crowe and Barbara Walters. All looked on as the couple, whose bond was further strengthened by a faith which they now both share, were united as one in an Orthodox Jewish ceremony.

Following the nuptials, guests converged at a reception designed by event planner Preston Bailey, where attendees sampled slices of a Sylvia Weinstock-concocted cake as talk show host Regis Philbin serenaded the crowd. As the evening wore on, father of the bride Donald Trump raised his glass in a toast that summed up a priceless day of joy: "Be happy and enjoy your life."

Following a planned honeymoon excursion to Africa, the newlyweds will be busy writing Thank You notes for the many items received from their wedding registry list, which ranged from a sterling silver footed bowl from Tiffany's worth $1,350 to $3.95 cotton lapis napkins from Crate & Barrel.

According to Puggal.com, family and friends gathered at the prospective groom's apartment in Mumbia, India on October 24, 2009 to offer their best wishes to the future husband and his Celebrity Big Brother-winning bride-to-be, who donned a pink saree edged in red fabric by movie costume designer Manish Malhotra for the intimate pre-I do's. The dance of light on the facets of a diamond is always fascinating, especially if the sparkler in question belongs to a star. Following are a few rings that grace the fingers of the famous who have recently become engaged or married:

Just weeks after Lamar Odom slipped a 12.5-carat engagement ring on his fiancee's finger from Vartan Fine Jewelry (seen below), the symbol of his love for reality personality Khloe Kardashian was united with its marital mate-- a platinum band from the same jeweler, which is decorated with 2.5-carats of pave diamonds, OK magazine reported.

Acting out a supernatural love story on the HBO series True Blood led to real life true love for co-stars Anna Paquin and Stephen Moyer. Flashing a diamond solitaire created by jeweler Cathy Waterman (seen below), the Academy Award winner proudly flaunted her new status as a fiancee shortly after receiving the ring during a romantic getaway to Hawaii.

When the "Lovebug" bit Kevin Jonas, the JoBro got down on bended knee to present bride-to-be Danielle Deleasa with a 3-carat, cushion-cut creation from Jacob & Co.

A woman who stands behind her work, Ivanka Trump's pre-"I do" ring is an item from her own signature jewelry line (seen below). A 5.22-carat cushion-cut diamond which crowns a platinum and diamond band shows the world her love for Jared Kushner.

As unique as the woman who wears it, pink, yellow and white diamonds adorn the vintage vision that graces actress Milla Jovovich's hand (seen in the photo below). The 19th century gold ring now nestles beside a simple gold Neil Lane wedding band.

A 6-carat stunner from Ivanka Trump's jewelry line led to vows in Las Vegas for singer Christina Milian and music producer The Dream.

Whenever Jenna Dewan and Channing Tatum Step Up on the red carpet for a premiere, the sparkling facets of the actress's Neil Lane brilliant cut diamond engagement ring (seen in the photo below) wows the crowd. The ice was paired with a wedding ring when the stars said "I do" at the Church Estate Vineyards in Malibu on July 11, 2009.

She may be the author of The Skinnygirl Rules and The Skinnygirl Dish, but reality personality Bethenny Frankel is sporting a big, fat diamond on her ring finger, thanks to fiance Jason Hoppy. Eight carats in all, jeweler Kristen Farrell fashioned a 6 1/2-carat, pear-shaped sparkler as the centerpiece, with two smaller diamonds hugging either side.

Only a stellar stone can grace the ring finger of a show-stopping performer. A four carat, brilliant-cut diamond takes center stage on Fergie's H. Stern engagement ring from the jeweler's Stars collection (seen below.) To counterbalance its complexity, refined smaller rocks encircle the singer's simple gold wedding band.

Former Lost cast member Marsha Thomason found her perfect post-proposal ring at Roseark in Los Angeles, the actress confided to InStyleWeddings. The rose-cut diamond creation which symbolized her Valentine's Day 2008 betrothal to Craig Sykes led to the purchase of a wedding gown from Pogah Couture, which she wore down the aisle at the Inn of the Seventh Ray in Topanga, California.

Having said "I do" to his small screen soul mate on the NBC series The Office, John Krasinski is now planning to pledge his love to his real life leading lady, British actress Emily Blunt, who wears a classic round-cut diamond ring on her left hand (seen below.)

"The Bachelor" Star Jason Mesnick Engaged

Instead of receiving the final rose from The Bachelor on season 13 of the ABC series, Molly Malaney's second chance romance with Jason Mesnick will lead to a bridal bouquet.

Although all three reality personalities learned that every rose has its thorns when Mesnick confessed his feeling to former fiancee Melissa Rycroft that his true soul mate was actually the woman he had let go, time has a way of healing all wounds. Rycroft, who waltzed her way into America's heart as a contestant on Dancing with The Stars, became betrothed to Tye Strickland on June 26, 2009, leaving Mesnick and Malaney to continue their long-distance relationship.

As the saying goes, absence makes the heart grow fonder, and People magazine reports that the distance between Seattle and Milwaukee did little to deter the couple's romance. On October 20, 2009, during a romantic getaway to New Zealand-- the same place where their relationship once came to a tearful end-- the bachelor mended the mistake he had made with a proposal. The pair have not announced a date for their impending I do's.

Although Brooke Logan Forrester and Taylor Hayes Forrester's tug-of-war for the love of Ridge Forrester may forever stay a perpetual plotline on the CBS soap The Bold and The Beautiful, only one woman holds the heart of actor Ronn Moss-- his real life leading lady and new bride, Devin Devasquez.

As the sun began to sink into the horizon over Los Angeles on September 25, 2009, the one-time Playboy Playmate stepped out from a horse-drawn Cinderella carriage and began her walk toward the gazebo where her groom-- dressed in a black tuxedo paired with a white vest and tie-- waited to make her his wife. Clutching a rainbow assortment of flowers, the happy hues mirroring the individualized color of each bridesmaids gown, the bride smiled at the gathered guests who admired her strapless wedding dress, consisting of a curve-conscious bodice which flowed into a full, pick-up skirt.

A brother on the small screen and a friend in real life, actor Winsor Harmon took on the role of groomsman, while the actor who introduced the couple, former B&B cast member Lorenzo Lamas, stood by as best man. Both stars, along with bridesmaids Cindy Margolis and the groom's daughters Creason and Calle, looked on as Moss-- who had long ago begun wearing his wedding band on a chain around his neck, he had confided to Ninemsn's Woman's Day-- slipped a ring on his bride's finger as stuntman Wally Crowder pronounced the pair husband and wife, Digital Spy reports.

1) True to her name,Transformers: Revenge of The Fallen star Megan Fox was one foxy lady in a fire engine red frock from Martin Grant, Radar online reports.

2) The metallic sheen of Eliza Dushku's form-flattering dress gave the Dollhouse star a golden glow as she posed for photographers.

3) Taking her cue from her days as vamp Darla on both Buffy The Vampire Slayer and Angel, Dexter star Julie Benz took a bite out of the couture competition with her choice of award show attire. Confiding to her Twitter followers, the actress relayed that the noir number was a creation of designer Rachel Roy, and that she promenaded into the in a pair of Guiseppe Zanotti shoes. Neil Lane jewelry added an extra glimmer of glamour, while the small screen siren's face was red carpet ready thanks for make-up artist Kelsey Deenihan.

4) The task of handing out an award to one of the world's sexiest men calls for a dynamic designer dress, and the multi-colored Lanvin mini that Jessica Alba chose fit the bill for presenting a spike to Johnny Depp. The A-lister accessorized her look with Neil Lane jewelry, including a gold and enamel heart bracelet.

5) Christina Ricci's return to the single life suits her. "Wednesday" wowed the crowd at the Greek Theater in a little black dress featuring intriguing cut outs.

Honorable Mentions

Looking pretty in a plum-hued Marc Jacobs design, bride-to-be Anna Paquin's Cathy Waterman engagement ring sparkled in the light as she accepted an award for her work in True Blood.

She may portray the innocent love interest of two blood sucking brothers in the new CW series The Vampire Diaries, but actress Nina Dobrev definitely amped up her vamp appeal by wearing a body-hugging black mini for her appearance as co-presenter of the best TV show award.

Bravo to Bethenny Frankel of The Real Housewives of New York City, who has announced that she is a bride-to-be. People magazine reports that on October 8, 2009 the reality personality accepted a proposal from Jason Hoppy, her love of the past 11 months.

Although the author of The Skinnygirl Rules and The Skinnygirl Dish has lived out her life in the public eye for the past two seasons of the Bravo series, only her canine companion Cookie was privy to the proposal in her Big Apple apartment as the prospective groom knelt and presented her with an engagement ring from jewelry designer Kristin Farrell. The warm glow of over 100 candles illuminating a room perfumed with scattered rose petals danced on the facets of the ring's crowning glory-- a 6 1/2-carat, pear-shaped diamond embraced by two smaller diamonds, for a total of eight carats.

Still enjoying the first days of betrothed bliss, the happy couple have yet to decide on a date for their I do's.

Who ruled as la reina of the red carpet at the 2009 Los Premios MTV? Here are Lovetripper's picks for the award show's most caliente creations:

1) In 2006, Nelly Furtado and Calle 13 frontman Residente rose to the top of the Latin charts with their single "No Hay Igual," and as the dynamic duo once again shared the mic as co-hosts of the 2009 MTV Premios there was no equal to Furtado's winning wardrobe. According to Red Carpet Fashion Awards, the songstress slipped into three Elie Saab silhouettes during the show, including this embellished design, which she wore during her performance of her latest hit, Manos al Aire:

2) High School musical star Ashley Tisdale has graduated top of the couture class, thanks in part to the Camilla & Marc Lotus creation she wore for her entrance at the Gibson Amphitheatre. While its black tulle skirt provides a glimmer of girlish fun, the animal print pumps the star slid her feet into gave the singer/actress a decidedly womanly wiggle as she strolled past the press.

3) Audrina Patridge's Lanvin boots, which were provocatively paired with a back-baring black dress, were made for walkin' down the red carpet.

4) Best Solo Artist winner Paulina Rubio's somber-hued Ina Soltani silhouette helped to highlight la chica dorada's golden mane.

5) ¡Carly star Miranda Cosgrove looked pretty in a pastel print by designer Elise Overland, which was paired with Guiseppe Zanotti shoes:

Who wore the most fabulous fantasy frocks on reality TV's biggest night? Here's Lovetripper's picks of the evening's divine designs. Be sure to tune in to see all the couture creations on the red carpet when the Fox Reality Channel airs the 2009 Really Awards on October 17th.

1) Judging by her look on the red carpet, Paris Hilton's new BFF should be designer Brian Lichtenberg, who created this shimmering, one-shoulder silhouette. The sequins on this marvelous mini, which danced in spotlight as the high fashion hotel heiress arrived to receive the Innovator Award, lands the reality personality in first place in our style stakes.

2) She's both producer and presenter of the VH1 reality series Glam God, and as the host for the evening event Vivica A. Fox was transformed into a glam goddess, thanks in part to this noir number.

3) At an event that is recognized as an homage to excess, the best way to wow the crowd is to wear a study in refined simplicity, so Keeping Up with The Kardashians starKim Kardashian donned a demure dove-hued design.

4) Her new single status seems to suit Dancing with The Stars hoofer Karina Smirnoff, who looked picture perfect in periwinkle. The full-length, feathered frock is apt attire for a performer who floats across the dance floor.

5) She's one of theReal Housewives of Orange County, but on award night Gretchen Rossi looked pretty in peach. Waves of ruffles turned this traditional style into a flirtatious frock.

Actor Jeremy Sisto, who portrays Detective Cyrus Lupo on the NBC series Law & Order, became the lawfully wedded husband of Addie Lane on October 13, 2009.

Opting for an intimate "I do," WENN reports that the couple's four-month-old baby girl Charlie Ballerina and their child's caretaker were the only witnesses present as the pair pledged their devotion to each other at City Hall in Manhattan.

British Star Jennifer Ellison's Wedding

As former soap star/Hell's Kitchen winner Jennifer Ellison and semi-pro pugilist Robbie Tickle await the arrival of their first child at the start of the new year, the happy couple celebrated the birth of a new life together as husband and wife on October 10, 2009.

Although television viewers had watched her fictional walk down the aisle during her stint on Brookside, the Daily Mail reports that only two guests gathered in the garden of the Four Seasons Hotel in Anahita, Mauritius to witness the bride--dressed in an empire-wait Jenny Packham creation-- exchange vows with her love of the past 17 months.
