West Hill House is on a quiet country lane just one mile west of scenic route 100 and Warren Village, and one mile south of Sugarbush Ski and Golf Resort. The nine-acre property at 1496 West Hill Road, abuts Sugarbush Golf Club’s fourth fairway and our big red barn is the only other building that can be seen from the inn. Vermont’s capital, Montpelier, is 24 miles to the north and Burlington airport is 45 miles northwest of the inn.

Come up our quiet country lane to West Hill House Bed and Breakfast Inn, a historic 1850s home that’s only one mile from Sugarbush skiing, golfing and tennis resort and adjacent to its Robert Trent Jones Sr. championship golf course. We’re off the beaten path, but close to restaurants, shopping, quaint villages, covered bridges and outdoor recreation beyond imagination. With warm weather hiking, biking, fishing, swimming, kayaking, golf and tennis- and wintertime downhill and cross country skiing, snowshoeing, and sleigh riding all right nearby, Sugarbush and the Mad River Valley is the best!
Our nine peaceful acres with mountain views, meadow, ponds, gardens and woods provide a setting for relaxation and getting away from it all. Enjoy the comfortable big, bright sun room, the living room and the wonderful library with its pool table - all with fireplaces, original art, and antiques. Put your feet up on our front porch, the canopied back deck or the airy gazebo. Read a book or watch the “critter shows” as birds and chipmunks, deer and an occasional moose entertain you.
Eight comfortable, well-appointed queen or twin/king bed guestrooms with TV/VCR/DVD, gas fireplace, telephones with voicemail with free long distance, WiFi/DSL internet access and private en suite bath, all with steambath and/or jacuzzi. Down comforters and pillows, thick towels, good reading lights.
Memorable breakfasts, afternoon and bedtime snacks. Specialties include flatbreads from our wood-fired brick beehive oven. For 6 or more guests who let us know no later than breakfast time we will serve a full candelight dinner and give you a choice from a limited menu. Raiding the cookie jar is encouraged.
State licensed for sale of wine and beer. Nice wine cellar, good selection of local beers. We request that guests not bring any alcohol to the inn.
Children over age 12 welcome. Non-smoking. Our cats Smoky and Snowball look forward to joining us in welcoming you, and ask that you leave your pets at home.
Most Romantic Room:
In romantic seclusion, up its own spiral staircase, is the Paris Suite, with queen size four poster canopy bed, gas fireplace, sitting area, cable TV/VCR/DVD and A/C.
Its large bathroom has a glass corner shower. A two-person jacuzzi tub and gas fireplace completes the “spa room”. The Study, with daybed, desk, phone, and TV opens to a private deck and parking space.

As your guests come up our quiet country lane to West Hill House, a beautiful 1850‘s home, they will be surrounded by the beauty and serenity of the Green Mountains. We‘re just a little bit off the beaten path, yet close to everything.
Our nine peaceful acres with beautiful perennial gardens, birch gazebo, meadows and ornamental ponds provide a lovely setting for weddings, civil unions, receptions, rehearsal dinners or Sunday brunches. To create the perfect wedding, all that is needed is your personal touch: food, flowers, candles, music, friends and family.
We host events up to about 80 guests and, depending on the size of the group and the season, we offer the use of the inn, its canopied deck, or our handsome red barn. Weddings can be catered by one of our recommended caterers and for weddings taking place at West Hill House we offer onsite catering for Rehearsal Dinners and “First Morning” Brunches for up to 35 guests. We are state licensed for the sale of beer and wine.
