Description: Nestled in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada Mountains among acres of orange groves, lies The Plantation Bed & Breakfast of Lemon Cove, CA. The plantation is a peaceful country getaway located in a small citrus community with a population of 190, yet conveniently located on the two-lane scenic California Highway 198 with various tourist attractions and over 150 restaurants within a 20 minute drive.

For over one hundred years, this 4,500 square foot home on twenty acres of orange groves was known as the Mesa Verde Citrus Plantation. In 1996, the Plantation House was transformed into the Plantation Bed & Breakfast and remains on one and a half acres of the original twenty. Take a step back in time when you walk into the original settlers' house, built from river rock in 1880. Stroll through the lawns and acre Grove Park and you will see not only orange trees but peach, plum, apricot, cherry, lemon, tangerine, avocado, fig, pear, pomegranate, apple, nectarine, banana and olive trees, as well as grapevines and herb and vegetable gardens that provide the freshest produce possible. Just for your sensual delight recline in an Adirondack chair under a weeping willow, laze in a hammock suspended between palm trees and enjoy the birds and butterflies flitting among the many blossoming vines, shrubs, flowers and ornamental and shade trees.

At Giant Forest, in Sequoia Park, is the General Sherman Tree. The largest tree in the world, standing 275 feet high and 103 feet in circumference. The second largest tree in the world, the General Grant Tree, and the Nation's Christmas Tree is located at Grant Grove in Kings Canyon. Both parks provide a hiker's domain of spectacular peaks, canyons, lakes and streams, threaded with a thousand miles of trails. Connecting the two national parks is the Generals Highway, a 46 mile long scenic road from Ash Mountain through Giant Forest to Grant Grove. The highway reaches 7,643 feet at Big Baldy Saddle. This highway and branch roads take you to such attractions as Moro Rock, Crystal Cave, Crescent Meadow, Big Stump Grove and Roaring Fork Falls. You can enjoy Lake Kaweah, only 2 miles from the Plantation, or drive to Mineral King, a peaceful valley beneath the peaks of the Great Western Divide.
