The Captain Lord Mansion is a romantic, stylish inn situated like a yellow jewel at the head of a sweeping village green, overlooking the Kennebunk River. The residential area where the inn is located is filled with 17th and 18th century Colonial and Federal period homes that have been meticulously preserved. The grounds around the inn are approximately an acre in size with brick paved walkways lined with flowering trees and shrubs and beautiful flowering gardens in the summer season. Lush gardens surround a "Lovers" fountain. Seasonal amenities include comfortable lawn chairs, lawn swing, hammock, free bicycles, beach towels and sand chairs.
The large, luxurious guest rooms are furnished with fine linens, rich fabrics, original European paintings, romantic oversize (king and queen) four-poster canopy beds, excellent lighting, comfortable seating areas, and fine Federal-period antiques; yet, also, have modern comforts such as cd players, stocked refrigerators, telephones, air-conditioning and gas fireplaces. Each of the deluxe private baths has a heated marble floor, beautiful vanitiy, European-style, illuminated make-up mirrors & hair dryers. Many guest baths feature jacuzzi-style tubs for 2 or marble body-jet showers.

Features include: king-size 4-poster canopy bed, gas fireplace, heated Italian marble bath floor, $12,000 Kohler, 10-jet body massage waterfall shower, toilet & bidet, whirlpool tub for 2, two granite vanities, gas fireplace in front of the whirlpool tub, as well as exercise equipment.
