Description:
In the heart of the Adirondacks, far from the rush of the city, is the small town of Crown Point, where the air is clean, and the land lush and green. At night, stars shine radiantly against the black dome of the sky, and the sound you hear is silence.
Here you will find the Crown Point Bed and Breakfast built in 1886 and a rare vision of a Victorian "painted lady" in ten shades of beige, pink, burgundy and blue. Set on five- and a-half acres of parklike grounds, this sixteen-room grand dame of historical detail is adorned with a two-story turret, bay windows, and a stained-glass enclosed porch extending over the front entrance.
In the breathtaking foyer, the majestic staircase-guilded with a carved oak balustrade sweeping to a crescent-shaped rail on the second-floor railing-was once displayed in the Victorian exhibit of the 1890 Chicago World's Fair. Throughout the manor, a variety of
floral wallpapers, antique furnishings and collectables embellish eleven different kinds of carved-wood paneling and flooring.
Owners Hugh and Sandy Johnson spare no expense to surround their guests with Victorian finery, from antique furniture to antique pitchers of ice water- kissed with lemon and mint- or bottlles of Saratoga Springs crystal sparkling water in each bed-chamber during the warm season. They offer plush silk robes and fleece slippers and
nightly turn-down service complete with Astor's from England hazel-nut truffles placed on the pillows. The six bed-chambers are each distinctively custom decorated with antique brass or wood beds, paddle fans(air-conditioning during the warm season), lace
and floral fabrics, and alcoves with lacy parapets. All bed-chambers feature private bath-chambers containing shower-massage units and hair-dryers together with a host
of amenities.
Guests enjoy lounging any one of three parlours, each with an original working ornate carved stone fireplace. Guests may also choose to relax on one of three porches, or to stroll our five-and-half acres complete with fountains and blooming gardens or to
entertain themselves on our hiking trails in the woodland portion of our grounds of our complex.
An extra-ordinary gourmet breakfast is presented in the Waverly appointed oak-paneled dining room set to classical music, with a crackling fire during chilly weather.
For diversion, there are the archeological ruins and a working fortress and museum at nearby Fort Ticonderoga, as well as water sports, horseback riding, hiking, and bicycling. Winter brings sleigh rides, ice fishing, snowmobling and both downhill and
cross country skiing.
The Inn is walking distance from Lake Champlain's Monitor Bay. Both Fort Crown Point, as well as Vermont's famed Shelburne Museum and New York's equally famed Adirondack Museum are located nearby. Throughout the seasons the surrounding countryside is ideal for all outdoor sports-including the thrilling rides at the "Great Escape" in summer-or such indoor sports as fine dining at our nine prefered gourmet restaurants in both
New York and nearby Vermont(after perusing our sample menus in our Reception Room and allowing us to book your reservation for the appropriate time), or antiquing or browsing through the area's interesting shops.
New additions to the Inn include a gift shop in our Reception Room and a rustic Adirondack Gaming Parlour styled after the early-1900 "Great Camps" of the region-final touches to an inn of utmost luxury inviting enough to make yourself at home. Since 1988, Hugh and Sandy Johnson have created for their guests the ultimate as well as truly unique and memorable "Victorian Experience"!

Directory Search Tips
Completely
spell out city and state/province names. Use "Los Angeles" rather than "LA" and
"Hawaii" instead of "HI."
Specify at least one listing type: Accommodation,

You
may select more than one listing types if you like. You can search for all the accommodations and wedding professionals

You
may search any word used in the business description. Businesses provide a description of their services which

a broader search. Instead of looking for accommodations in Paris,
