TRINIDAD & TOBAGO: NIGHTLIFE No where do the differences between Trinidad and Tobago reveal themselves more than in the amount of nighttime activity found on these two isles. Trinidad pulsates with nightlife, especially in the pan yards where steel bands practice and local residents come to enjoy the sounds of Trinidad. Finding a pan yard involves a little work on your part; no publication lists the yards that are open that night. Have no fear, though, because you'll find that the hotel personnel of Trinidad can tell you where to go for music on any given night. Tobago's nightlife is much more sedate--except when it comes to Sunday evenings. That's the time for "Sunday School," held every Sunday in the community of Buccoo Village. This open-air street party doesn't get cranked up until near midnight, so come prepared to stay up late and enjoy the pulsating sounds of calypso and soca. |
