ST. KITTS AND NEVIS: JUST THE FACTS Getting around: Rental cars are available on both islands, but be advised that driving is on the left side of the road. A visitors license is available from the Police Traffic Department for $30 EC. Excellent taxi and mini-bus service is available on St. Kitts and Nevis. Many couples take a day trip to the other island aboard the passenger ferry The Caribe Queen. The 45-minute crossing costs about $8 US round trip. Air St. Kitts Nevis (869-465-8571 on St. Kitts; 869-469-9241 on Nevis) whisks visitors from island to island in less than 10 minutes. Entry Requirements: Passports are required for citizens of the U.K and for all other visitors except those from the US and Canada who may present a voter's registration card, naturalization papers, or a certified birth certificate (not a copy) instead. All visitors must possess a valid return ticket.
