ST. BARTS DINING
Dining is as much
an adventure on St. Barts as watersports or hiking. An activity
that's the deciding factor for many vacationers, the fine dining
found here often features French cuisine, so much so that the
island has earned a reputation as the "French cuisine capital
of the Caribbean." Expect these meals to set you back at
least $50 per person in most cases, and sometimes much more.
Since on this island
a meal is more than just food but close to an investment, you
might do a little research before hand. Stop by the Tourist
Office in Gustavia for restaurant brochures and a copy of Ti
Gourmet, a free guide that includes several bonus coupons. Another
source is Sibarth, a villa rental company on rue Général
de Gaulle in Gustavia. The offices have menus from most island
restaurants.
