With its lush tropical setting, anything can be a romantic activity in Jamaica: walking from your room to the restaurant, listening to the pip of tiny tree frogs hidden in the dense foliage at night, or sitting beneath a tall cotton tree and thinking of the centuries that magnificent tree has witnessed.

But if you're looking for something a little more planned, you'll find plenty of diversions across the island. Golf lovers will find plenty of courses to challenge even the most dedicated. The best known course, and the home of the PGA's World Championship, is the Tryall Golf Club in Montego Bay. Other top courses include Half Moon Golf Course and Ironshore Golf and Country Club in Montego Bay, Runaway Bay Golf Club, Sandals Golf and Country Club in Ocho Rios, and Negril Hills Golf Club, just southeast of downtown Negril.

If golf's not your game, how about diving? The Negril area is especially popular with excellent visibility. Montego Bay and Runaway Bay, near Ocho Rios, also offer top diving.
