CAYMAN NIGHTLIFE

Mention Cayman and nightlife in the same sentence and Seven Mile Beach's best-known performer comes to mind: the Barefoot Man. George Nowak, AKA the Barefoot Man, has been entertaining Cayman audiences for years and his music was heard in The Firm. For years the Barefoot Man performed at the Holiday Inn Grand Cayman; today he can now be found at the Royal Palms Beach Club (345-945-6358) Thursday through Saturdays starting at 8pm.

Caribbean music and fun is the theme of the Caribbean Dinner Party (345-949-1234, ext. 5208), held on Tuesday and Friday nights at the Hyatt Regency Grand Cayman from 6:30-9:30 pm. This show features limbo dancers, fire eaters, and a steel pan musician. The evening includes dinner of pepperpot soup, spicy conch stew, salads, Jamaican barbecued fish, jerk mahi mahi, and more.

Seven Mile Beach is also home to several nightclubs, favorites with young,
energetic travelers. In The Falls Shopping Centre, Legendz (345-945-5288) features the sound of live rock. Sharkey's Niteclub (345-945-5366) in Cayman Falls Shopping Centre is known for its dancing with live rock and roll Tuesdays, comedy on Wednesday, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays , and big screen music theme nights.

Two comedy clubs pack in crowds looking for laughs. Coconuts Comedy Club (345-949-NUTS) at the Legendz nightclub in The Falls Shopping Centre features traveling comics on Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday nights at 9pm. Chuckles Comedy Club (345-945-5077) moves between the West Bay Polo Club and Sharkey's, depending on the night of the week.

Sports buffs find several bars to catch up on sporting action. At the Lone Star Bar and Grill (345-945-5175) all major games are televised in the bar. West Bay Polo Club Sports Bar and Grill (345-949-9892), located in Seven Mile Shops, has over 15 television screens broadcasting just about any sporting event available. Pizza is served nightly until midnight.

For couples looking for something a little quieter, the Loggia Lounge (345-949-1234 ext. 5209) at the Hyatt Regency Grand Cayman is a good choice. The lounge has a piano player tinkling out quiet favorites as well as a humidor filled with Cuba's finest.
