Titanic, the waves which silenced 1,517 souls still ripple like an echo of the past in the ocean, beckoning to all in the present to keep the memory of the splendor, sadness and sacrifice of that fateful day alive.

Years after its initial release, James Cameron's movie epic brought the heroism and heartbreak of actual events back to the surface with an intimate tale of two fictionalized lovers, whose story continue to touch the hearts of romantics who raised Titanic to the top of Lovetripper's most romantic travel movies of all time list.

<img style="float:left; Scenes in the engine room were shot aboard the S.S. Jeremiah O'Brien in San Francisco.

Lovetripper Reader Recommendations

TITANIC-a scattered dream...The movie itself is a timeless masterpiece that captured my heart forever, a real tragedy inspired an incredible movie which is indeed a life lesson. The story majestic ship that took with it so many lives is just heartbreaking....
The plot involves various themes such as tragic and lost love, death, courage and sacrifice, dreams and undying memories of past...to put it briefly, all it takes to keep you glued to the screen throughout the movie. A pair of amazing actors ( Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet) bring to life two young souls, Rose and Jack, whose powerful romance echoes from a distant past.
What have I learnt? One should be free to pursue his dreams because you only have one life, you have to live it to the fullest;
death ends a relationship, but not love itself, as long as you keep the memories in your heart, love won't fade, but it will keep you warm through dark times.Just like Rose, life can makes us undergo traumatizing experiences, but as long as you're able
to get up after the fall, you know you won't be defeated, hope will guide your way. This is the inspirational message of the movie, one of the main reasons why I love it so much. Every detail is unique, I mean Kate and Leo's performances , I'm definitely struck by the their emotions, the haunting soundtrack is so special, I can actually "feel" the pain, the heartache of losing your love or celebrate life, like the cheerful tune at the third class party. The accurate recreation of the Edwardian era , the beautiful costumes, the recreation of the ship are fantastic, they prove without a doubt the hard work that's been invested into making the movie. Thanks to people like Leo, Kate and James Cameron, we all have this film to enjoy -TITANIC is a journey to eternity and also a voyage to the bottom of our own soul, to find there the inner power that makes our hearts go on. I have been into many other fandoms ever since, some came and go, but TITANIC has always remained no.1. Here I would love to quote Cathy from Emily Bronte's Wuthering Heights- "the love I have for other fandoms is like the foliage in the woods, time will change it, as winter changes the tress, my love for TITANIC resembles the eternal rocks beneath-a source of little, visible delight, but necessary."-- Manuela

Kate Winslet and Leo DiCaprio had fantastic chemistry, and even though in the movie their characters love affair was short-lived, it oozed infinite romance. Titanic is THE romance movie of the 90's.-- Amber

Just a classic love story.-- Diane

Titanic is one of the most romantic movies I have ever seen. It includes heartbreak, sacrifice, passion for love and life along with hope and truth that even after death love can still go on. In the end all that matters are those you have loved and who have loved you as the ending shows when Rose walks down the stair case to see everyone and meets up with Jack again. She greets him with a smile that proves love doesn't die.-- Dawn

It's a classic! It has everything, the forbidden romance, the jealous "other man", some mystery, suspense. Even knowing the ending doesn't ruin the movie!-- Jennifer

It had everything, the Romeo and Juliet- type romance , the good guys and bad guys, disaster and great effects and the romance... well, what can you say with LEO! Love him.-- Stacey

This was the most successful romantic movie in recent time. Millions of people fell in love with the story.-- Edgar

two strangers are destined to meet unknowingly on the maiden voyage of one of the grandest ocean liners ever built...love is made and then lost forever...-- Deanna

It was a toss up between this one and Dirty Dancing. But this is such a great movie. When it cam out I was in high school so I was completely sucked in by this movie. I could watch it today and probably still cry when Jack dies. This movie has it all and it's really well made.-- Nicole

It tells of how Rose loses her love at sea.-- Kaylon

It is the biggest selling movie of all time, it has laughs, tears and most of all love. it is one of the most romantic movies ever to be made, it has the best director ever - James Cameron.... and to top it all off it stars Leonardo DiCaprio.-- Jade

A great love story.-- Margaret

Somewhere In Time: #2 in Romance Hall of Fame Romantic Travel Movie Category

"Love vanquishes time. INSITE's founder tells about her connection to the cinematic classic in the following Lovetripper interview.

Lovetripper Reader Recommendations

This movie shows we all have one true love and not even time can separate us.-- Lynn

Somewhere In Time is a romantic time travel movie because it is very emotional and would make a great date movie for couples. The way Christopher Reeve's character Richard, wills himself into the past to romance Jane Seymour's character Elise after falling in love with her portrait convincing himself with a hotel register he was their before is the type of deep love the movies of today do not make enough of.-- Joyce

It's an amazing journey both across time, and a personal transformation as falling in love changes the characters. It's beautiful and timeless.-- Maria

The perfect love story, set in different times but become one in the end!-- Mireille

It was beautiful from start to finish. The era, the island, who wouldn't fall in love with this lovely film. This is a classic love story.-- Sherrell

Like all topics close to my heart, I find it hard to express my feelings for a movie that has meant so much to me over the years. Somewhere in Time proves that true love can defy any obstacle in its path.-- Alice

Like many other people, there have been times when I have felt as though I was born in the wrong era, and maybe I've missed my soul mate because of it. Somewhere In Time lets you dream of the possibility that your love will find you, no matter the distance.-- Laurie

I was one of the lucky few who saw Somewhere In Time during its initial release. The beauty of Richard and Elise's romance tugged on my heartstrings then, just as it does now, almost 30 years later.-- Ruth

I was so moved by Somewhere in Time that I felt compelled to visit Grand Hotel. It's just as breathtaking as in the movie! The director also yelled "Action!" at Whelans Pub, a watering hole whose musical acts have provided the heartbeat of Dublin's city center for the past two decades.

Lovetripper Reader Recommendations

The entire idea behind knowing the person you love on such a deep level to know how they will react when you pass on. It shows how even in death people who are truly in love really care for one another and know that they will live on in each others memory and know that in the end they love you and just want you to be happy. Isn't that what love really is? Caring more for the person than you do for yourself.-- Shayna

Gerard Butler was fabulous as Gerry, the sweet and sexy husband who died and reached out to heal his wife with letters sent to her after his death. Laughed and cried through the whole movie. As far as travel, it made the beauty of Ireland so obvious that, if you didn't want to go there before, you certainly did after the movie.-- contributed by Marylucia

One, because it starred the most handsome actor on the planet, Gerard Butler and two, because it took place in Ireland, the land of my ancestors and the home of my heart. Ireland is not only beautiful but has an unconquerable spirit that came to life in this movie.-- Susan

(more Lovetripper Reader Recommendations after the following video clip)

Travel to Ireland and reliving courtship and falling in love after your partner's passing and, perhaps, finding a new love. P.S. I Love You has a profoundly beautiful message.-- contributed by Jane

The reason I chose PSILY as the most romantic travel movie is because Holly's husband, Gerry, sent his wife and her friends to Ireland AFTER he had died. Prior to his death, he made sure that his wife was able to return to the place where they first met, go the places that were important to him so that she would be able to get over him and move on. It was a surprise to her months after his death. Instead of focusing on his death, Gerry chose to make preparations for his wife's comfort. To me, that's is a very romantic and selfless thing to do.-- contributed by Lisa

P.S. I Love You showed the heart ache that a person goes through after the death of a love one and the trip that a person goes through not only in a trip way but in a emotional way to get over that pain. It made the movie not a depressing movie about the death of a love one but the hope that one day you will see them again and even in death they aren't far away.-- contributed by Courtney

Because love does not die.-- contributed by Stephanie

This was the first romantic movie my current boyfriend (of three years this October!) and I watched together. I will never forget renting this movie, watching it on my couch in my apartment and snuggling at all the sad parts. Never liked Hilary Swank that much, but I loved her in this film.-- Tara

MovieWeb - Movie Photos, Videos & More

Dirty Dancing: #4 in Romance Hall of Fame Romantic Travel Movies Category

Summer romances, much like the season itself, are often frivolous and all too fleeting. However, as the nation enjoyed its last days of innocence in 1963, Frances "Baby Houseman learned that a connection between two people, no matter how brief their time together may be, can be likened to a beautifully choreographed dance whose steps can lead toward a promising tomorrow.

Enter Lovetripper's "Movie Magic" Contests!

Filming Locations

Travelers still have the time of their lives at the Mountain Lake Hotel, the sandstone sanctuary and outlying cottages in Pembroke, Virginia that played the pivotal role of Kellerman's Resort. Secretly I
think we would all love to be in their shoes. The soundtrack especially Patrick
Swayze singing could make any girls knee weak, throw in the romantic and hot
dancing, and you have it all.-- contributed by Theresa

Whenever I watch this movie I instantly travel back to my high school days-- sitting in a darkened theater, giggling with my friends, munching on a box of buttered popcorn and dreaming of dancing with Patrick Swayze. I will be forever grateful to Dirty Dancing for giving me some of my most treasured memories.-- contributed by Natalie

I developed a crush on Patrick Swayze back in the days of North and South, and I remember rushing to the theater to see Dirty Dancing on its opening day. I've lost track of how many times I've watched it since!-- contributed by Tania

The chemistry between Patrick Swaze and Jennifer Grey made that a standout movie...and the score is outstanding. The other movies are great like Gone with the Wind, Titanic etc but Dirty Dancing gets my vote.-- contributed by Nancy

When they both dance to "The Time of Your Life"-- contributed by Julie

What girl doesn't want to be Johnny Castle's "Baby"? *Sigh...*-- contributed by Bonnie

This movie reminds me of my summer romances when I was young.-- Carla

I remember playing the soundtrack over and over, trying to dance like the people in the movie. It's been more than 20 years--I still have two left feet, and I still love every frame of this movie!-- contributed by Donna

Dancing on a hot summer night. Ymmm.....-- contributed by Jason

I've always had a weak spot for dancing couples in the movies-- I can watch Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers or Gene Kelly and Leslie Caron trip the light fantastic over and over again. Having grown up after Hollywood's Golden Era, I had always felt that I was born in the wrong time until Dirty Dancing came along. Patrick Swayze and Jennifer Grey (and Patrick with Cynthia Rhodes) are dancing duos who can rival any movie pairing from the past.-- contributed by Anne

The African Queen: #5 in Romance Hall of Fame Romantic Travel Movies Category

The waters of a Central African river becomes a visual metaphor for the romance between world-weary seaman Charlie Allnut (Humphrey Bogart in his Oscar-winning performance) and prim preacher's sister Rose Sayer (Katharine Hepburn) in this 1951 classic.

Just as the mosquito-infested region mirrored the characters' early irritation with one another and the life-threatening rapids mimicked their growing sexual tension, so the river's eventual marriage to the sea seemed to paint a poignant cinematic portrait of two souls who, though lost alone, discover that together they are invincible.

One of the silver screen's most beloved love stories, The African Queen-- which ranks at #14 in AFI's 100 Years...100 Passions-- docks at the half-way point in Lovetripper's look at the top 10 most romantic travel movies of all time.

Filming Locations

As equally stellar on the big screen as Katharine Hepburn and Humphrey Bogart is the majestic scenery. Unlike other movies of its time, The African Queen was filming partially on location, with the Democratic Republic of Congo's Ruiki River and Ponthierville Falls and Uganda's Kabalega Fall National Park and Port Butiaba playing prominent roles.

Trivia

Charlie Alnutt's beloved boat may have chugged to her doom in the final reel of the movie classic, but in real life The African Queen is moored in the Florida Keys, bringing a touch of Tinseltown magic to the tourists booking a stay at the Holiday Inn Key Largo, situated adjacent to the canal which is now the tugboat's home.

Everyone who has ever boarded the Jungle Cruise ride at Disneyland has The African Queen to thank for the experience, as the attraction took inspiration from the 1951 classic.

Lovetripper Reader Recommendations

This was what love is all about, it is easy to believe and they had very hard and trying times, they did not give up on each other. When they looked like they were to die, they wanted to be married and die that way. What a excellent story.-- Edna

Although not in a beach paradise with instant sexual attraction, Bogart and Hepburn showed that real romance comes from character and respect.-- Flora

Bogart and Hepburn at odds in the brutal African interior battling each others wants/needs and the formidable environment made the movie one of the most thought provoking films ever. It made both sexes realize that their differences can be overcome with the proper understanding and compassion for the other.-- David

It's a movie I can watch over and over and enjoy again and again.-- Mary

You can't get any better than the pairing of Bogart and Hepburn, and under the direction of a powerhouse like John Huston this movie was destined for greatness.-- Roger

The African Queen should definitely be on the list of the top 10 most romantic travel movies of all time as it was one of the first movies with scenes shot on location. It's a common occurrence now, but I remember seeing the movie in theaters and the African landscape made quite an impression on me.-- Michael

Katharine Hepburn's Rosie is one of the most inspiring women ever in the movies.-- Sarah

Aside from the leeches, bugs and torrential rain, watching The African Queen makes me want to take a chance and explore the world. Although left barren after each harvest, time will bring rebirth to the vines, and just as new leaves unfurl in the caring climate, so does heroine Frances Mayes, who finds herself experiencing an emotional reawakening in her new Tuscan surroundings which, like the grapes destined for bottles of wine, makes for a very good year.

Trivia

According to IMDB, the man heard crying in apartment adjacent to the leading lady's divorce digs is actor Matthew Laborteaux, a former star of the family favorite, Little House On The Prairie.

Already a star from its appearance in Under The Tuscan Sun, the main square in Montepulciano-- which echoed with the shouts of spectators as Pawel performed in a flag-throwing demonstration-- will share the big screen with the cast of New Moon when the supernatural love story premieres in November 2009.

Diane Lane's first acting experience at age 14 partially took place in Italy when cameras rolled on A Little Romance, which also starred Sir Laurence Olivier.

MovieWeb - Movie Photos, Videos & More

Filming Locations

Frances and Mr. Martini wished each other "Buon Natale" at Piazza della Repubblica in the Tuscan town of Cortona, where much of the filming took place.

Just as they did for Pawel and Chiara, the bells of Farneto Abbey still ring out the happy news of nuptials. Located in the hills of Valdichiana not for from Cortona, the 11th century house of worship also houses a museum featuring architectural finds.

Lovetripper Reader Recommendations

This movie is all about hope, love and crazy risks. It shows how someone who goes through bad times can find love and a life full of joy. By taking risks we can move on and start anew. To all of us who have had our dreams vanish, this movie is pure inspiration!-- Nan

Diane Lane is the star of two of my favorite romantic travel movies-- Under The Tuscan Sun and A Little Romance. Both films capture the spirit of a new love and leave you with the feeling that anything is possible.-- Diana

At the risk of sounding cliche, this movie warms your heart just like the Tuscan sun! From the time Frances arrives in Italy, each frame is filled with a joy of life that will rub off on anyone who watches it!-- Nicole

I've always dreamed of touring Tuscany. For anyone who may never get the chance, this movie is the next best thing! The cinematographer really captured the beauty of the landscape.-- Kristen

It was cute, brought back some memories for me.-- Linda

I love this movie!! I just wish that I had had the same results as Diane Lane when I renovated my house! :)-- Pamela

This movie does more than just entertain you for two hours. It inspires you to take a chance on love.-- Catherine

Whenever I feel down I watch this movie. It's one of the most uplifting films I've ever seen.-- Stephanie

Why is Under The Tuscan Sun the best romantic travel movie? It just is!!!-- Jhawn

MovieWeb - Movie Photos, Videos & More

Sleepless in Seattle: #7 in Romance Hall of Fame Romantic Travel Movies Category

A cinematic Valentine for anyone who has ever wished that real life could mirror the magic of movies, this 1994 Nora Ephron-directed homage to the quick quips of tongue-in-cheek twosomes from Hollywood's Golden Era shows that, with hope in your heart, a love that is meant to be can span any distance in order to fulfill its destiny.

Filming Locations

Tiramisu may not be on the menu, but film-loving foodies can find an assortment of fresh seafood delights on the menu at the Athenian Inn, the Seattle restaurant and bar where Rob Reiner gives Tom Hanks a lecture on the do's and don'ts of dating in the 1990's.

Sam took his date out to dinner at a venue at 1904 4th Ave., which was known at the time as Dahlia Lounge (a restaurant still in business, although now at a new location.)

Although tourists may not actually be walking in the footsteps of Meg Ryan and Tom Hanks when they step on to the 86th floor observatory of the Empire State Building (the scene was filmed in a Seattle studio), just like many of the 110 million sightseers who have visited the Big Apple landmark since 1931, film buffs will find themselves in awe as they look out cityscape at, as said in An Affair To Remember is "the closest thing to heaven in the city."

Lovetripper Reader Recommendations

This movie is great to watch as it shows that love is never rational or "by the book." Even though they are separated by many hundreds of miles, Meg Ryan and Tom Hanks somehow make a connection over the radio that leads to very interesting and funny movie.-- Mary Mae

Even though the main characters never meet until the final moments of the movie, this is still one of the most romantic big screen love stories that I've ever seen.-- Sophie

It was such an innocent movie and one you could watch over and over.-- Diane

Every DVD in my collection is from Hollywood's Golden Era, with one notable exception-- Sleepless In Seattle. This movie captures the comic timing and the romance of a cinema classic.-- Nelson

I guess because two people who never expected to fall in love did with the help of a child.-- Arlene

Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan were the successors to the king and queen of old Hollywood romantic comedies, Spencer Tracy and Katharine Hepburn. They brought wit and intelligence to their roles and in the process made the world fall in love with them.--Josie

Sleepless in Seattle is one of my all time favorite movies because it bridges generation gaps. My 15-year-old daughter loves the movie, I love it and so does my mother.-- Belinda

The soundtrack's modern remakes of romantic standards helped to conjure up the movie's old Hollywood style.-- James

The best movies have the ability to evoke emotion from viewers, and Sleepless in Seattle can bring a smile to anyone's face.-- Renee

It's a movie that makes you believe that your soul mate really is out there.-- Warren

The Holiday: #8 in Romance Hall of Fame Romantic Travel Movies Category

Two women who pack their luggage for a Christmas season house swap find that their vacation from their romantic vexation lets them leave their emotional baggage behind in this tribute to the romantic comedies of Tinseltown's past.

Filming Locations

A touchstone of Hollywood history, Greystone Manor in Beverly Hills has been a silent witness to the real life weddings of actress Jaime King as well as that of movie legend Kirk Douglas, who renewed his vows to his bride of 50 years in 2004. A star in its own right, its regal facade has been seen on the big screen in Spider-Man, What Women Want, The Bodyguard and The Witches of Eastwick and on the small screen in Gilmore Girls. Its gardens provided a romantic backdrop for the vows of daytime drama's Luke and Laura on General Hospital in 1981, and in 2006 the landmark's interior was utilized for the lunch scene between Amanda (Cameron Diaz) and Graham (Jude Law) in The Holiday. Although its doors remain closed at most times, architectural aficionados can take a closer look at the 1920's landmark during one of several special events scheduled each year at the estate.

Also providing cinematic scenery for the romantic comedy was Church Street in the town of Godalming and the village of Shere in Surrey, England.

Lovetripper Reader Recommendations

It showed sometimes you have to step out of your comfort zone to find the love of your life.-- Leann

Who knew that Jack Black could be so romantic? When I saw his name in the opening credits I have to admit that I was sceptical, but he toned down his usual wisecracking ways and turned in a realistic performance.-- Colleen

The Holiday is a sweet homage to old Hollywood. I would recommend it to anyone who enjoys classic romantic comedies.-- Beth

While Kate Winslet has been lauded for her dramatic roles, she proves in this movie that she's equally adept at romantic comedy. She's one of my all time favorite actresses, and it was great to see her in a light-hearted film for a change.-- Frank

It is romantic because it takes these characters make a location switch to get away from it all and instead unexpectedly meet someone that is close with the character they switched with and fall in love.-- Susan

This is a movie that will make you smile.-- Taylor

The Holiday reminds me of the innocent flirtations found in old Rock Hudson/Doris Day romantic comedies. It's a welcome change from what passes as big screen romance these days.-- Beatrice

The first time I watched this movie I was down in the dumps, but by the time it was over I had a smile on my face. Sometimes all you need is a little reminder that taking a chance can completely change your life.-- Maria

The Holiday leaves you with a cozy feeling. It's going to be Christmastime viewing at my house every year, along with It's A Wonderful Life.-- Lillian

Photos by Sony Courtesy Moviefone

A Room With A View: #9 in Romance Hall of Fame Romantic Travel Movies Category

A sojourn to Italy leads to both self-discovery and a soul mate for a young Edwardian lady, whose room without a view at an Italian pensione starts a chain of events which offers her a renewed view on life she learns to break free from the constraints of conformity and indulge her craving for love.

Trivia

The movie's shooting schedule dictated that Lucy and George's first kiss would not take place in a field of violets, as depicted in the E.M. Forster novel.

Nominated for eight Academy Awards in 1987, A Room with A View walked away with three wins in the categories of Best Costume Design, Best Writing of a Screenplay Based on Material from Another Medium and Best Art Direction- Set Decoration. At that year's BAFTA Awards (the British equivalent of the Oscars), the movie fared far better, winning Best Actress (Maggie Smith,) Best Actress in a Supporting Role (Judi Dench,) Best Costume Design, Best Production Design and the evening's most coveted title, Best Film.

Known at the time of the movie's filming as the Quisisana e Ponte Vecchio, the romantic retreat which starred as the Hotel Bertolini is now the Hotel deglo Orafi.

"O Mio Babbino Caro" and "Chi il Bel Sogno di Doretta," the two Puccini aria's which provide a sweeping soundtrack to the couple's blossoming romance, were sung by Dame Kiri Te Kanawa, the operatic star who performed at the 1981 wedding of Prince Charles and Lady Diana Spencer.

Relive the magic of George and Lucy's first kiss in the following clip:

A Room with a View - Kiss | Movies & TV | SPIKE.com

Filming Locations

The gnarled branches of more than 20,000 olive trees seemed to block out any presence of the present as cast and crew traveled into the hills between Fiesole and Settigano to film several of Pensione Bertollini's interior scenes at Villa di Maiano. During a guided tour, a little imagination is all it takes for tourists to hear the vexed voice of Charlotte Bartlett as she complains about a room with no view in the dining area or Lucy Honeychurch's passionate piano playing in the sala della bambole, or dolls' room. A venue ripe with romance, couples often pledge their love or celebrate their nuptials at the Italian retreat.

For insight into more of the Italian landmarks and English edifices that played a role in the movie, see Lovetripper's filming location guide to A Room with A View.

Lovetripper Reader Recommendations

I love the fact that this Merchant Ivory production is such a faithful adaptation of E.M. Forster's novel.-- Sarah

The soundtrack to A Room With A View is undoubtedly one of the most romantic in movie history.-- Vivian

This is one of the most beautiful films ever made-- not only due to its cinematography, but for its life-affirming message.-- Ruth

A Room with A View brings back memories of my own trip to Italy. I had the opportunity to tour the Church of Santa Croce just like Lucy-- and without a Baedecker!-- Moira

This is the quintessential travel movie which shows off the beauty of both Italy and England.-- Daniel

The costumes are breathtaking. Helena Bonham Carter's face has such a timeless quality-- she looks right at home as an Edwardian lady!-- Louise

Watching A Room with A View is a virtual visit to Italy. The Florentine masterpieces and Italian countryside are as much the stars of the movie as any of the actors.-- Kate

No matter what roles she's played since, in my eyes Helena Bonham Carter will always be Lucy Honeychurch.-- William

A Room with A View introduced m to the novels of E.M. Forster, so it holds a special place in my heart.-- Billie

One need only look at the credits to realize the cinematic importance of this movie. Daniel Day-Lewis, Helena Bonham Carter, Maggie Smith, Judi Dench, Denholm Elliott, Simon Callow-- no wonder A Room with A View is beloved by movie buffs!-- Deacon

Every time I watch this movie it makes me want to pack my bags and book a flight to Europe!-- Margaret

Some Like It Hot: #10 in Romance Hall of Fame Romantic Travel Movies Category

Life on the lam leads to love for a saxophone player and the ukulele-strumming siren he comes across in this gender-swapping screwball comedy classic. The sight of two cross-dressing men was anything but a "drag" for movie audiences in 1959, and the hilarity holds up today, with Some Like It Hot earning the number one spot on AFI'S 100 Years...100 Laughs and the 10th place position in Lovetripper's Romance Hall of Fame.

Trivia

In the novel Bid Time Return, upon which the romance classic Somewhere In Time is based, author Richard Matheson's main characters Richard Collier and Elise McKenna are not reunited at Mackinac Island's Grand Hotel, but rather at the Hotel Del Coronado in San Diego, California.

In celebration of the 50th anniversary of its 1959 premiere, the Some Like It Hot companion, written by Laurence Masion, is scheduled to hit book shelves in September 2009.

Each day of her stay at the Hotel Del Coronado, Marilyn Monroe ordered a cold souffle vanilla pudding with egg-white decoration, the hotel states on their web site.

Even before her birth, actress Jamie Lee Curtis was visiting movie sets. Her mother-- Janet Leigh of Psycho fame-- was pregnant when she would stop by to see her then-husband Tony Curtis as he stepped in front of the cameras.

The exterior of the Hotel Del Coronado shares the screen with Marilyn Monroe and Tony Curtis in this comedic clip from Some Like It Hot:

Lovetripper Reader Recommendations

This is part gangster caper, part fish-out-of-water, part slapstick, part love story. They both go on a journey (physical, emotional, and sexual). And it ends with Joe E. Brown!-- Thomas

The looks on Joe E. Brown's face are priceless! This movie never fails to make me laugh-- it's one of my all-time favorite comedies.-- George

I've always felt as though I was born in the wrong era. I love the fashion, music and movies of the past, and Some Like It Hot is the quintessential sex comedy of its time.-- Samantha

I read once that Some Like It Hot was originally to be shot in color. Thank goodness that Billy Wilder changed his mind! Black and white adds depth to this delightfully dipsy comedy and helps to make it a timeless classic.-- Lionel

While I love to watch the latest box office hits, they can't hold a candle to the movies of the past. Marilyn Monroe positively glows in every frame of this film! Anyone who watches it will instantly fall under her spell.-- Charlie

There are a few movies that bring a smile to your face whenever you think of them. Some Like It Hot is one of those movies.-- Jason

Although I've read that she didn't feel the same way about her performance, I've always thought that Marilyn Monroe was in top form as Sugar Kane. Even though Some Like It Hot is a comedic farce, she added an extra layer to her role. Every woman can identify with the feeling that they've ended up with the "fuzzy end of the lollipop."-- Maria

Romance Hall of Fame: Top 10 TV Weddings

One of the greatest pleasures of investing your time and emotion into watching a television series can come in sharing the joy of a beloved character's special day. While he was unable to keep the bad guys at bay for the original ceremony, Chuck found a way to turn the disaster into a heart-tugging "I do" for Ellie Bartowski and Devon "Awesome" Woodcomb that may not have left fans of the spy series shaken, but most definitely stirred.

Lovetripper Reader Recommendations

The showing of love not only between Ellie and Awesome, but also between Chuck and Ellie by giving up his government paycheck to pay for their wedding is one of the truest definitions of love.-- Patrick

It wasn't overdone, the wedding was the focus without being cheesy, and there was a performance by Jeffster!-- Chris

Filled with comedy, romance, true love, despair, and action! I mean come on!!! It truly appeals to everyone since it has so many facets. "Jeffster" alone was awesome...and then the beautiful beach scene!!! WOW-- Nick

The comedy was awesome, and besides, you actually got 2 weddings. Chuck is a very original and entertaining show, and the wedding was perfect in the plot for the season finale! Best wedding and the best show!-- Dave

First of all, not many characters get to have TWO awesome weddings, even if they will never know how truly epic the first was. The battle behind the scenes could not have had better background music than the sweet serenade of JEFFSTER! Not only that, but even after the first was ruined, Ellie gets her dream wedding on the beach, too! Captain awesome would certainly approve.-- Zachary

More Lovetripper reader comments below

A behind the scenes look at the making of the wedding episode:

Jeffster's Domo Arigato:

This wedding was awesome because the first wedding was a bust because of all the spy action that totally trashed the whole thing, but the make up wedding on the beach that evening was beautiful, romantic, and perfect. I almost cried!-- Robert

The song Christmas TV was great and the wedding was in a great location and the Marines preparing a wedding isn't something you see everyday...the beach was so pretty...and the mix of a bit of violence is kinda good in a weird way (when the
agent killed the 3 marines and the fulcrum guy)-- Diovi

Because with everything thing that went wrong (bad guys destroying everything)with the big wedding. Ellie finally got her dream wedding. A simple one on the beach with close family and friends thanks to her brother, the CIA & the NSA.-- Traci

Beautifully done after the initial disaster.-- Jamey

Some would say for the action... I would say for the emotional connection between the bride and her brother. They're familial chemistry is unmatched on television.-- Ed

Because it shows that it doesn't always have to be big to be perfect.-- Jakob

Ellie and Devon finally got married !! AND Chuck, Sarah, Casey, Daddy, etc, kicked SERIOUS BUTT !! And nothing can ever beat Chuck<3-- Natalie

Who wouldn't want a nice beach wedding after the day they had?-- Phillip

Are you kidding? Did you see the episode?! The wedding setting made for by far the best episode of Chuck in its two seasons of existence. I haven't seen all of the other options on this list, but I think this wedding had to win, hands-down, in uniqueness.-- Brendan

It was great because even thought the first wedding in the episode was ruined, the second ceremony that Chuck gave his sister was exactly what she wanted...the wedding of her dreams.-- Jarrod

It was full of heartbreak and love. The action and comedy of the Mr. Roboto montage during wedding 1 was genius and the simplicity and genuine love that surrounded the beach wedding was beautiful and a great treat to watch.-- Nikky

It was Awesome !!! Because Jeffster played some tunes to stall the wedding and because it was also completely ruined by the NSA dudes !-- Hyacinthe

It was funny and romantic and was absolutely beautiful.-- Sam

See More Chuck Publicity Still at IGN.com

The first wedding was just a beautiful traditional attempt in a grand church with ice sculptures and formal dress. I am glad though that Fulcrum ruined it and Chuck gave his sister truly what she had dreamed of though with the beach ceremony. Just an absolutely gorgeous setup with the waves crashing in the background against magnificent boulders. The sun waning in the background painting a picture perfect painting in the sky as it set. Just a touching moment with an "Awesome" couple
having their dream come to fruition with their dearest friends and loved ones in attendance. I hope my wedding to be as beautiful and heartfelt as theirs!-- Michael

Mr. Roboto song in the back special forces team saving Chuck, Sarah and Bryce in the end JEFFSTER!-- Jessie

Because everything that possibly could have gone wrong did, like Jeffster trying to stall? But in the end Chuck comes through and saves the day by paying for Ellie and Awesome real wedding. Besides its the wedding Ellie has always wanted even though
she didn't know that's how she was going to get there.-- Ashlei

Jeffster's off-key '80's tunes, romantic tension between Chuck/Sarah, evil spies and a special forces team coming through the ceiling--all packed into a five-minute bit. Need I say more?-- David

It had the most heart in a wedding scene I have ever seen! They seemed so genuine. The right song, the right emotion! Not to mention everyone looked AMAZING!-- Scott

It was interrupted by bad guys trying to take over the world, a performance of Jeffster!, and then re-done beautifully on the beach.-- Bethany

This wedding had action, comedy, and drama.-- Sean

It wasn't the TYPICAL wedding !!!! it was full of action and heroism , and it was what Ellie REALLY wanted, so it shows you can actually want in the end.-- Moira

Because we got two weddings for the price of one, and you can't beat a reception hall gunfight set to the pre-wedding entertainment of a cover of Mr. Roboto!-- Donn

Even if the original wedding plans didn't push through, Chuck spent his hard earned money just to have a wedding for his sister. And that wins my heart!-- Rhea

Because we got to see two polar extreme weddings. One that did not go well at all yet left the audience cheering and satisfied, and one that was beautiful and incredible and left the audience cheering and satisfied. This show never disappoints its fans and VS. the Ring was absolutely no exception.-- Travis

See More Chuck Publicity Still at IGN.com

It wasn't one great wedding - it was TWO great weddings! The first one was disrupted in a truly hysterical way. I mean, who wouldn't want a couple of nerds who work with their brother to perform "Mr. Roboto" at their wedding and then set off all the fire sprinklers in the church? The second wedding was gorgeous, and was all the more moving because of all the effort and money Chuck, Sarah, and Casey put into making sure it was everything Ellie wanted. It was also special because during the wedding there was a great progression in Chuck and Sarah's relationship, when she told Bryce she wanted to stay with Chuck.-- Grace

First of all, Ellie and Awesome had two weddings and both of them were great. The first one was pure action and chaos while the second was romantic and classic.-- Melanie

Hello?!? massive SILENCED fire fight in the room next to the wedding with the soundtrack of "Mr Roboto"! mixed with the "feel good" factor on the beach when you KNOW Sarah is staying with Chuck.-- Pete

They're a beautiful couple and a great minor distraction from the heavy action happening to the main character (Chuck) throughout the course of the show. "Both" of their weddings were absolutely gorgeous and it was really great to see all the spy action going on in the background without anyone really noticing it. They deserve to win for pulling through with the "I dos" amidst the chaos.-- Kacey

Because it first started off to be a wedding just to make the family happy but with all the things that went wrong that day, at the end the couple was able to have their dream wedding. Also, another character was able to reveal that she would choose a life with person she loves instead of a career shes good at. Plus, the music, action, disaster and the beautiful sunset wedding was well done.-- Edna

The wedding itself did not contain all the action. The main reason I vote is for the events happening before and during the wedding: the activation of the fire alarm, the performing of the band, the shooting and so on; leading to a more discreet and special wedding.-- Juan

The setting was amazing... On a beach at sunset has been done so many times but the way they pulled this off I want my wedding to be just like this! The colors they used were beautifully unique and the way the writers had the good and the bad going on at the same time changing Chucks whole world, it left me wanting so much more! Hands down the best t.v. wedding ever.-- Hannah

The "originally planned" wedding had to be saved by special forces troops. Any wedding that ends in a shootout HAS to be good. After Chuck firmly realizes he ruined his sister's wedding day, he gives her the wedding of her dreams: a sandy beach, all of her family, and NO Fulcrum attacks.-- Erik

Because it was Capt. Awesome's Wedding! And 2 weddings at that.-- Jill

The beach wedding was beautiful and the most romantic wedding I've ever seen on television. It was even romantic for characters that were not getting married. It was just absolutely beautiful. :)-- Erin

This wedding was amazing because it was not just one, but two...and the first one involved pyrotechnics and spies using wedding gifts as weapons. Definitely not
typical!-- Sarah

It was the climax of the last 5 episodes of Chuck. Then it looked like there wasn't going to be a wedding until Chuck saved the day.-- Bobby

Their wedding was awesome.-- Traci

Fan Sites

Chuck TV-- From behind the scenes reports to the latest spoilers, this site offers all the intel on everyone's favorite spy sidekick.

Chuck Online-- Track the pulse of each heart-pounding episode at this site's viewer ratings page. Sully and Michaela's wedding on DQMW is still my most favorite wedding, ever! I loved the feel of magic in the air. No two other characters have shown so much love for each other. Their romance is what drew me to the show when it first aired. The chemistry between the actors Joe Lando and Jane Seymour was undeniable. This particular episode started off with real bride/groom situations that come up, as well as some unique situations that only Sully and Michaela would be in. The groom was so handsome in his wedding attire as was the bride in her gorgeous dress and veil. The feel of support from each town member and family members was felt right through the tv screen. I grinned ear to ear just like Brian did. I sighed just like Mrs. Quinn did. It was a moving ceremony. But it did not end there. The reception was funny and moving at the same time. And the final moments on the train car were quite steamy and again I sighed. Just beautiful.-- Penni

It represented the culmination of everything the couple had endured in almost four years they knew each other. Despite pressure from friends and loved ones to alter their plans, they settled back on what they wanted and found a nice compromise to blend their individual desires. It also demonstrated how deep love is to bring a loner man back from grieving the loss of his first wife and a lonely woman who had found acceptance and purpose in her love for her soon-to-be husband.

This couple had sparks flying on the screen and the looks they shared could melt the TV set. They knocked heads on various issues, as do all couples, but the important thing is they agreed on what was important and managed to always find a compromise that showcased the depth of their love.

In today's society when love is treated so carelessly, or sex is used as bribe for love, this couple's purity is a refreshing reminder that love is about far more than sex and the physical. They gave me hope and inspiration, and when I finally met my soul mate, their example is helping me treasure this relationship.-- Tiffany

Michaela and Sully from "Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman" are one of my favorite TV couples of all time. Jane Seymour and Joe Lando had the kind of on-screen chemistry that comes along only once in a very blue moon. They were magic together on screen as Sully and Michaela. Their wedding was the culmination of an epic romance. Plus, the wedding itself, the wardrobe, hair, makeup, set design, etc. were a visual feast! Michaela was just radiant in her wedding gown, and Sully was drop-dead
handsome as usual. Everything was just gorgeous from top to bottom!-- Mia

I knew they were meant to be together because of the way they acted in the first episode the way they looked at each other. I knew one day they would get married and I am so glad that I was right. They make a wonderful couple and the wedding was
gorgeous.-- Jessica

I choose Dr. Quinn Medicine Woman: Sully and Michaela because you don't find love today like they found it. You watched their love grow from the very first episode to the end of the season. You got to see the love they brought into each other's lives and the feelings it gave them. You saw them through the best of time and the worst of time, you saw them fight feelings for another and yet, the love they share is unlike any other and that's why Sully and Michaela caught the world by storm.-- Kayla

We waited so long! Everything was perfect and you gotta love the attire!-- Lauren

I loved Dr. Quinn Medicine Woman and Sully & Michaela had a wonderful relationship that led into marriage. Their relationship was pure and romantic. You do not see much of that any more.-- Evelyn

Because of the unique chemistry between Joe Lando and Jane Seymour on the DQMW set, during not only this wedding episode but also throughout all the series, before and after their union. All DQ fans know they had an "affair" very early during the shooting (Pilot etc.) and this does show on the screen. Besides, Michaela's dress is absolutely gorgeous. In the episode, she actually designs the dress herself, because she doesn't want to hurt neither her mother, nor her local friends, who have both paid a lot (her mum) or worked very hard (the locals) so Michaela decides to keep both by using 1 half of each. The final result is simply the best wedding dress ever made: very "sexy" on top, and very "classical" on the lower half, with many yards of train. Surely a gown all girls would dream to wear on their wedding day!-- Sylvie

This wedding had everything: elegance, beauty, handsome men, family, family not getting along, friends, tradition, but also new ideas. It was an awesome TV wedding.-- Jeri

Beautiful outdoor setting, beautiful gown, beautiful couple; very romantic.-- Ann

Because, as a fan, you've waited like ages to see and hear those two to finally say 'I do'. They had so many troubles to face before they were able to admit their feelings and take this final step that you always feared that it was never going to happen. But it did and how it did! It was the kind of wedding every girl dreams of. The perfect dress, all friends and family together, the handsome groom and the big big love. When they exchanged rings and said their vows it was so real and romantic! Just perfect in any possible way! This wedding spoiled me for a lifetime because when I am ever going to marry, want it to be have a wedding just like the one Michaela and Sully had.-- Katja

It was a classic wedding with all the beautiful details. Jane Seymour and Joe Lando have the best chemistry. And beyond that Jane was stunning...-- Jesse

Because there was all love from the TV and from the people in this wedding. Till today it is (was) a great show and couple. I love that wedding dress.-- Mieke

It was the most exciting and romantic wedding I've seen on TV.-- Janet

Sully and Michaela's wedding was the greatest for so many reasons. This show included so many aspects of family togetherness and history. Sully and Michaela had been through so much together and so much before they knew each other. Each moment in their lives lead them to each other. Both had lost love before and never thought they'd love again. In a way, neither had a desire to love again. Yet, from the moment they saw each other, their was such a strong passion between them. You could see the fire in their eyes. You could see the desire they had for one another. Yet, they were respectful of each other. They developed such a beautiful friendship that blossomed into romance. They were able to be there for each other in so many ways. They had a relationship that truly had every aspect to it: friendship, drive, determination, truth, passion and fulfilling love. They are beautiful in my eyes and always will be the greatest TV couple.-- Marita

Because everything about it was perfect - beginning with the weather and the clothes up to the mood. For once all town stood together to celebrate this one wedding - and Michaela and Sully were just the perfect couple.-- Marion

It was a beautiful outdoor wedding, filmed at Paramount Ranch in Agoura, the character's whole community was involved, there was an element of danger as the best man, a Cheyenne, was wanted and had to be secretly whisked in, Michaela's mother gave her away, the costuming was fabulous, and the rail car scene at the end was so tastefully erotic yet subtle (like showing the lamps rocking back and forth after Sully undresses Michaela) that I was surprised CBS didn't censor it!-- Linda

It was a great moment for the show, and fans alike who finally got to see Dr. Quinn finally marry her soulmate. It was the start of another 3 great season's before it was axed and took the show in a new direction.-- Erin

It was a beautiful wedding of two beautiful characters, and the 3-year build-up to it just made it one that you didn't want to miss. I re-watch it again every few months, and it never gets old!-- Elaine

This wedding took place at the end of the third season after 3 years of sexual tension between these two characters. Without a wedding they would have never been able to explore the physical side of love. the fans were chomping at the bit for them to get together. The wedding itself was beautiful. The bride and groom, both good looking on their own were clad it the most gorgeous dress and Indian shirt. I enjoy watching it over and over because there is so much detail in it involving all the characters of the show.-- Lynn

So romantic, and with all the problems a future bride can have just before the wedding including her mother's ideas. LOL-- Cecile

This wedding was an amazing event! Sully's buckskin wedding shirt mixed with Michaela's gorgeous, flowing gown. And the train scene at the end...WOW! Pretty steamy for a CBS show in the 1990's! It is definitely an episode that I will always remember!-- Marisa

Two people as different as can be on the outside find deep love and respect as soul mates, true friends and lovers!-- Doreen

I think this was the best and most realistic wedding I've ever seen on screen, probably due to the incredible chemistry between Jane Seymour and Joe Lando and maybe also to the fact that they were dating for a while some years ago. In fact there were fans who attended it as a real wedding and it was filmed more or less in real time. We are part of the wedding as if we had been invited to it. The conclusion of the wedding is the beginning of the wedding night, a very special moment for any fan of the series as Michaela and Sully are supposed to consummated their love for the first time on a train continuing a metaphor that has been built throughout the three first seasons. After that wedding, differently to many other series, their magic isn't extinguished, their relationship is as thrilling as always.-- Gemma

Cause they FINALLY were together!!!!-- Letara

After two years of courtship between Sully and Michaela, their wedding was a monumental moment that thoroughly displayed their admiration, affection and love one another properly and efficiently.-- Lindsey

Why do I love Michaela and Sully's wedding so much? Well, it had EVERYTHING - a wounded fiance who gets held captive and almost misses the ceremony, a wedding dress gone wrong, a mother trying to run the show, a steamy and super romantic love scene on a moving train (it's getting darker!) and OF COURSE, two gorgeous actors, Jane Seymour and Joe Lando!!! Mmmm, yummy Joe!! What more could you want???-- Renea

This was a great wedding because the fans were allowed to experience the entire relationship from the beginning. And to be able to experience all the highs and the lows along with the characters it was great seeing them finally come together as one and begin a new chapter of their lives together.-- Saray

It was such a romantic wedding, especially for the time frame that the series was set in.-- Joan

Despite opposition coming at them from all sides, Michaela and Sully managed to have the wedding they always dreamed of. She was radiant, he was ruggedly handsome and they were true to themselves and what they envisioned for their day. It was also nice to have the whole town involved in the event. The excitement of the day bubbled over from the very beginning of the 2 hour episode. It's a joy to watch over and over again.-- Megan

In my opinion this was the greatest TV romance of all time and the wedding was done perfectly.-- Dana

Watching the romance blossom between Sully and Michaela over 3 seasons was fantastic. You got to cry with them and celebrate their happiness. Being able to see two characters come together that had gone through what they had was amazing. They are my favorite TV couple of all time!-- Tammy

Even without the great costumes the smoldering looks between Mike and Sully are forever etched in my mind! And OH the pulling of the shades...my heart still flutters!-- Kat

It is the only show I have seen where the two people are so in love on the screen ..we were waiting eagerly for their wedding-- Christine

Sully and Michaela are the most romantic and sexy couple. This wedding was so beautiful.-- Fanette

This was a wonderful wedding because it incorporated the aspects of both characters personal beliefs into it. Michaela wore a traditional period gown, while Sully opted to honor his Cheyenne beliefs by wearing a wedding tunic. The love and respect that the two held for each other was evident in the vows they took and the adoring gazes they gave one another.-- Wendy

Michaela and Sully were from different worlds, but shared many of the same values. The whole town helped with the wedding.-- Joanna

It was the long anticipated union of two wonderful people that had come through a lot of difficult situations!!!-- Eirini

The DQ wedding was a culmination of a truly romantic storyline and the wedding episode itself didn't let us down - true romance played out against the beautiful backdrop of 19th century Colorado.-- Pam

Fan Sites

The DQ Times-- From the first notes of Dr. Quinn's sweeping score which greets viewers on its home page, Dr. Quinn enthusiasts will feel as though they have found a new internet home at this site devoted to the much missed CBS series. Years later the joining of his hand in hers in marriage would heal his own wounded soul, brought on by a lifetime of secrecy. At a tiny roadside chapel a human girl and her intergalactic groom celebrated a love that was not written in the stars, but rather in their hearts.

Lovetripper Reader Recommendations

The things that made this wedding great was the awesome story line behind the characters. For three seasons we watched them struggle as individuals and as a couple overcoming some outrageous obstacles and grow closer and closer. For three seasons we sat glued to the TV anxiously awaiting what would come next, waiting for that final moment when Max and Liz would finally be together. What makes this an AWESOME TV wedding was that it almost wasn't made. By the determination of the fans out there that loved this show, we where able to convince the producers to bring the show back for its final season. The wedding was an accumulation of three seasons worth of expectation that finally met its conclusion in that final scene that I can still see in my head today. It was perfect. Although the show ended way before it should have, here we are ten years after the first episode aired still talking about it, and wishing it was still on air. The show is now and will always be my favorite, as will the charaters of Max and Liz.-- Melanie

Because they had been fighting to be together for so long and they finally got their happy ending. Even if they had to leave their home to get it.-- Elizabeth

After going through trials and tribulations such as: alien destinies, time travel, best friend being murdered, and an alien baby; Max and Liz's love still rose above. If any two people deserved happiness and becoming husband and wife, Max and Liz were it. Just a glimpse of them running out of the Desert Rose Wedding Chapel as husband and wife made my Dreamer heart proud! Happy 7th Anniversary Max and Liz!-- Sonia

NOTHING compares to the deep connection that is shared between Max and Liz. I watched the first 2 minutes of Roswell and was addicted to them right away. I have yet to see or feel anything or anyone that could even come close to Max and Liz and what they shared.-- Robin

The reason this wedding was so great was because Max and Liz were soulmates as Liz's grandma pointed out. They had obstacles but they got over them. They made it out on top of everything that got in their way and I think that takes a lot of love. Also they were hot together. And they brought out the best in each other.-- Tavia

Because they loved each other more than themselves and they went through so much for each other. The wedding itself was so simple that it was absolutely perfect.-- Diana

Because even though they were running from the law... their love grew stronger and stronger. Their love for each other is what made them survive every obstacle put before them. and they took time out of there busy life full of secrets, fear, and
hiding, to get married and commit themselves on not only a spiritual level but a legal level... because if Max goes down for being an alien, Liz is with him all the way. It's because they have unconditional love.-- Jennifer J.

At last! We waited 3 years for this!-- Loretta

It was obvious Liz and Max were meant to be. It wasn't your usual TV wedding, it was a simple and lovely one. For fans of the show, it was a perfect ending and it fit the characters really well.-- Shauna

See flashes of Max and Liz's wedding day in the following clip. More Lovetripper recommendations follow below:

Max and Liz were voted into second place in Lovetripper's most romantic sci-fi couples category. Experience their romance from the beginning.

My choice is Max and Liz from the TV show Roswell. They're simply adorable together and their wedding was so natural and sweet! You care about this lovely young couple who had to face so many trials and you just hope that they will find a place only for them where they can start a family and be safe. In the scene you could breathe their genuine happiness and it's so easy to picture them as happy and passionate newlyweds who couldn't get the most expensive wedding and honeymoon but they really didn't care about it and after all is money really so important for people in love? Maybe their wedding was one of the most simple weddings on TV but it was the most real one.-- Elizabeth C.

Because Max and Liz's love conquered all and they deserved to be together forever. Their wedding was cute, her dress beautiful and not common, and they were happy for real, just being together.-- Gloria

It's the only one that has managed to forge an indelible memory in my chaotic mind.-- Ranjith

Simple. It was Max and Liz. The greatest TV couple and love story ever. That wedding and moment of pure bliss between was a long time coming and I loved it.-- Crystal

Max & Liz was the best sci-fi couple their was and their wedding was a great way to end the show. M.E & L.P were soulmates and they belonged together.-- Rebecca

The love was always there but the struggle it took and the simplicity itself.-- Diane

Max and Liz make their own destiny. No matter what gets in their way they always make it through. They sacrifice their love in order to save the world.-- Salonica

It was just so romantic that after everything they went through, they finally tied the knot.-- Brittany

Perfect! I want a dress like hers! Max and Liz had to face many obstacles in order to be together and their happy end, when it finally happened, was very deserved. It was sweet but not cheesy and sappy like this kind of scenes can be (for obvious reasons). That scene always bring tears to my eyes especially when Liz's voiceover said something like "and burn it (the diary) where my husband was born" such a perfect way to end the series and a journey lasted 3 years where many things changed, some for good, some for bad... but their love remained intense... a constant in the time. Their happy end surely isn't like in fables ... but it was worth it in the end and it gave you a sense of hope, the hope that like for them true love exists and can face anything.-- Jo

Because they've been through so much. Liz was not Max's destiny like Tess but they pulled through all their problems and in the end she was his real destiny.-- Ingrid

'cause this is The Greatest TV-couple, and thats all. = )-- Vyacheslav

They didn't have a big wedding but it had thier friends and that is what matters: being around people that care about them.-- Jeniffer

His touch saved her life; Her wedding saved two worlds. The story still has to be told.-- William

The love between both characters was like no other. Every scene together made time pause. A love one could dream and pray for.-- Charo

I vote for Max and Liz from Roswell because their wedding is simply my favourite of the list. It was so romantic yet intimate and very cute and sweet like no other. I especially love her wedding dress because it wasn't so classic, it was unique but still very simple and lovely. It makes me remember about Flower Children :D That scene is the perfect ending of the series especially because they had to face so many trials before finally getting their, well deserved, happy end. They're an amazing couple.-- Valery

Because of Liz's (Shiri Appleby) the most beautiful cheerful smile, the best ever wedding dress and her hair. Such a beautiful scene, it is just pure love.-- Maciej

I'm one of those people who don't like fictional weddings so much because I think that a wedding is something a bit too serious and "sacred" so in TV shows and movies they, most of the time, seem so fake to me, so damn cheesy. For this reason my favorite wedding is the one between Max and Liz from Roswell. It was the end of the whole show; it was only a scene, the memory written in the same journal that started the series. It was very simple and sweet not to mention that it was an intimate and unconventional wedding yet very sweet, romantic and meaningful. It was unconventional because what they were wearing wasn't so classic like normal weddings (I love her dress. She was beautiful, so free, so simple) but it did fit with their young age and how the most important thing there wasn't "the wedding show" but the simple fact that they loved each and they had won against everything that tried to keep them apart. They were together, they had their real friends with them... they didn't need nothing more than this. It was a sweet happy end that they deserved so much. Surely enough they were on the run so their life wasn't supposed to be simple and without problems... but that end gave you so much hope. It was telling us that no matter what everything is gonna be okay because they are together and happy and in love and this is the most important thing, this is worth all the sacrifices they were making. This is real.

It was the perfect closure of a series that started with them being forbidden and looking at each other with so many hopes and ended with them looking at each other as husband and wife hopeful, happy, peaceful.. putting behind them 3 years full of
obstacles that they had to face but they won against them all even death.

To me their wedding is perfect and it's the best because it summarize what that moment should really be and mean.-- Giusy

Because it was the perfect ending to finally see Max and Liz get to gether. Also it wasn't a traditional wedding as such but Liz looked beautiful in her little white hippy style wedding dress!!!! So Romantic!!-- Janet

Because is it perfect, simple, real... the wedding that I would like one day.-- Elisabetta

Because after all the traumatic and complex issues they went through to be together, it brought back the simplicity of the story; that love wins out in the end. The ceremony, though short, was beautiful and it brought us back to the very core of the show as Liz's voice over told the end of the story as her father reads her journal and she and Max are married. "I guess I should tell you that, Max and I did eventually tie the knot...Give my love to Mom. Let her read this journal, too. Then, give it to Maria's mom. And after that take it and burn it out in the desert by the ruins of the pod chamber, where my husband was born. So that's the end. Our life in Roswell. What a long strange trip it's been. Will we ever go back? I don't know. Even I can't see everything in the future. All I know is that I'm Liz Parker, and I'm happy." Her last words still resonate in my mind and it completely captures on of the best love stories ever told and that was what Max and Liz's wedding symbolized.-- Skyla

Max and Liz wedding may lack all the glitz and glamour we see in TV weddings, but it is evident in this wedding the love of this two for each other. Their wedding is a celebration of their love against all odds. The focus was not on the trimmings, but rather on how this couple loved each other.-- Vicky

Because you could feel the love and finally they were together!-- Nathalie

Who didn't want Max & Liz to get married?!?!? It was the PERFECT way to end the series! Liz looked beautiful in her 60's style dress with flowers in her hair...and it was great that the whole gang was with them as they drove off into the sunset.-- Katherine

They had been in love so long, she was an adorable bride and he was very handsome. It was a simple wedding with just friends. The fans waited for this for three seasons!-- Jane B.

I love it because it was the very end of the whole series. It was satisfying for the fans because of all the things that they had to endure through the series to finally get there and they were so sweet and gorgeous! Cutest couple on television.-- Nicole

Because Max and Liz were the most perfect couple ever.-- Kathy

Simple yet the most satisfying wedding ever.-- Jennifer

Awww after all the heartache they went through they final made it down the aisle.-- Pauping

Because they have no comparisson with any other couple in TV or movies.-- Lorena

This was fantastic, because the love between these two was builing up and being torn apart for the entire three years. Both weddings (the last one and the one that happened in Vegas flashbacks) were unconventional yet still romantic; authentic and not the usul phoney TV weddings that make me cringe. The Vegas flashbacks combined happiness, with the sadnesss of knowing the wedding wasn't real, despite it being the original destiny. The last wedding gave hope, on an intergalactic level,
crossing "multicultural boundaries" tackling the issues yung couples face, and added a twist of Romeo and Juliet (where the love "could never be" or would result in constant dramatic conflict. Such depth makes this overwhelmingly the best wedding(s)
and the most deserving couple to win. Authenticty should always win (NOT typical perfect weddings that are pointless to the storyline and dull scripted as most others are.)-- Ricardo

Max and Liz were the best couple ever and so their wedding was the best as well.-- Miranda

This TV wedding was great not because of the actual wedding scene but because of what Max and Liz had to endure to get to their wedding. Not to say that the wedding scene wasn't great because it was, a small church with the people they love attending but what made it so significant was what Max and Liz had to do to get there.--Estephany

Max and Liz! Through all the ups and downs, their love story was so beautiful and I'm happy that they were together and married in the end. They are probably my favorite romantic couple of all time. They fall in love despite the dangerous circumstances and they married in the end of the show while they were running from the FBI. A simple wedding yet so romantic and sweet. It was a perfect scene and a great ending for the show!-- Jane

Because it was the final episode of Roswell!-- Sandra

Was in a quaint country church and added some closure to the Roswell series.-- Deborah

It was a sweet ending to their love story.-- Carrie

The chemistry.....long awaited.-- Carolyn

It's unusual, the chemistry, super...-- Regina

Max and Liz had a great wedding. There was no fuss, no problems with family, they had their closest friends and they had each other. That's what a wedding should be all about.-- Suzanne

It was the perfect wedding. They deserved their happiness! Just look at their smiles, they only care about being together, it doesn't matter where.-- Anna

Fan Sites

Crashdown-- Just as Max revived Liz in the premiere episode of Roswell, this fan favorite has also been brought back to life. The revamped version features both archival items, including fan fiction, episode transcripts and screencaps, but also a news section which offers fans updates on the actors' recent activities.

Roswell The Unfinished Story-- Keeping the dream of a Roswell movie alive, this site has launched a free Roswell Social Networking Site where those passionate about The Pod Squad can unite.

Roswell Fan-- Launched in January 2009, this site provides an alien dictionary for accolytes to the world of Roswell, while a YouTube channel is a time capsule of promos and interviews.

Roswell Fanatics and Roswell Heaven-- A galaxy of fan fiction is waiting to be read at these popular sites.

Shiri Appleby Online-- This fan-run site, which features a comprehensive photo section, offers Applesaucers insight into the TV star's latest endeavors.

Jason Behr Unlimited-- A place for Behrians to learn the latest news about this otherworldly luminary.

Grey's Anatomy: Izzie and Alex's Wedding #4 in Romance Hall of Fame TV Weddings Category

"One crowded hour of glorious life is worth an age without a name." The quote by Sir Walter Scott rings true for Seattle Grace residents Alex Karev and Isobel Stevens, who have both caused each other romantic wounds and have healed each other's heartbreaks over the years, only to find the cure for their loneliness in one another-- even though their remedy may have come too late.

Knowing that no one is guaranteed tomorrow, Alex transformed his love's present into a gift-- surprising her with a wedding she though meant for her friend-- and as Isobel Stevens began her walk down the aisle on the 100th episode of Grey's Anatomy, the candles that illuminated her path also lit the way for the feint possibility of a bright future as she continues to rage against the dying of the light.

MovieWeb - Movie Photos, Videos & More

Lovetripper Reader Recommendations

It was amazing because it was unexpected and it was fulfilling Izzie's dream of having this beautiful wedding before she possibly died. When George helped her walk down the aisle after she stumbled I literally think my heart broke from the sheer emotion that was being projected. Absolutely BEAUTIFUL!-- Melissa

It was great because of everything it represent and all that led up to that poignant moment. It was so beautifully sad and amazingly done.-- Clarissa

It showed how far the two of them (especially Alex) had grown. It was a beautiful wedding, poignant and heartbreaking.-- Jennifer

Because it was the ultimate love story, Izzie agreed to marry Alex even though they knew they many not have long as husband and wife. More than 26 million TV viewers, who had been witnesses to the couple's relationship from the first spark of interest to their bachelor and bachelorette parties at the Le Meridien Resort on the island of St. Martin, tuned in to see the twosome tie the knot in December 2003.

Wedding Vendors

From the invitations to the aisle runner, discover the vendors that made Trista and Ryan's I do's a day to remember.

Lovetripper Reader Recommendations

This was a great TV wedding because we got to see all the details prior to the wedding and how it unfolded. It was nice to see such a beautiful couple meet under such unlikely circumstances and have the perfect wedding and marriage. After all they are still together and now have two children.-- Halina

Trista and Ryan seem to have it all together and are in love - loved the proposal and wedding!-- Amy J.

Having tuned in every week to watch Trista's search for Mr. Right, I felt as though I was watching a friend walk down the aisle. It was so touching to see her find the man of her dreams.-- Janet

It was one of the most beautiful weddings I've ever seen.-- Amy M.

I loved that Trista chose pink for her wedding's signature color!-- Daisy

Everything that built up to it and then went in to it.-- Kathy

Because it was kinda real.-- Anna

Cast

Trista Rehn Sutter-- She may not have been offered the final rose on the first season of The Bachelor, but the reality TV runner up went on to carry a whole bouquet of blooms when she wed her chosen prince charming from The Bachelorette, to whom she is still married. The pop culture personality, who has also made appearances on Dancing with the Stars and Fear Factor, is the mother of two children, Maxwell Alston and Blakesley Grace.

Ryan Sutter-- The former football player who ignited a fire in the heart of television's first Bachelorette today fights fires in Vail, Colorado.

Gilmore Girls: Lane and Zach #8 in Romance Hall of Fame TV Weddings Category

While providing the back beat for their group Hep Alien, Star Hollows resident, hesitant nonconformist Lane Kim came to realize that guitarist Zach Van Gerbig made her heart skip a beat. The platonic roommates' transformation from band mates to soul mates culminated in a couple of weddings-- a Buddhist ceremony to appease a family member and a traditional stroll down the aisle in which the bride walked the line between conservatism and cutting edge with an updated version of her mother's wedding dress. A rockin' reception complete with the newlyweds' performance of "I'm A Believer" left viewers with a feeling as warm as a cup of coffee from Luke's Diner.

Lovetripper Reader Recommendations

I love these 2 characters, so happy to see them together.-- Kelly

I thought it was really sweet that Lane honored her grandmother with a Buddhist ceremony before she walked down the aisle.-- Sandy

I grew up watching Gilmore Girls, and I felt as though I was watching one of my own friend's wedding when Lane married Zack.-- Alison

This quirky comedy always made me smile, and watching each wedding-- Lane and Zach's, Sookie and Jackson's and Emily and vow renewal-- made you feel like you were part of their extended family.-- Jean

Because this was so funny...having the traditional Korean wedding then the real one...it was cute.-- Nicole

As one couple commits their lives to each other, another couple contemplates their future. Coming to the realization that she may never walk down the aisle, a tipsy Lorelei toasts the bride and groom in the following clip:

<embed src="http://www.thewb.com/player/wbphasethree/wbvideoplayer.swf?config=wbembedplayer.xml&mediaKey=903fa4e5c9&& type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="380" height="340" allowScriptAccess="always" allowFullScreen="true" >

Trivia

As individualistic as the character she portrayed, actress Keiko Agena (Lane Kim) said "I do" to Shin Kawasaki in a helicopter hovering over Las Vegas on December 19, 2005, just months before Lane and Zach's wedding episode ("I Get A Sidekick Out of You") aired.

In a case of life imitating art, Todd Lowe (Zach Van Gerbig) is also a member of a band. The actor is both the guitarist and singer for Pilbilly Knights.

The wedding reception scene in which Lane and Zach's band Hep Alien rock out with a rendition of "I'm A Believer" was shot at four o'clock in the morning.

Cast

Keiko Agena-- In recognition of her work on Gilmore Girls, the Hawaiian-born actress was presented with an Ammy Award, which honors Asians in the arts. Having provided the voice of Yori in the Disney series Kim Possible, Agena has since made appearances on Private Practice and ER and shared the big screen with Jessica Simpson in the feature film Major Movie Star.

Todd Lowe-- Following his stint on the popular WB/CW series, Lowe sunk his teeth into a new role as Terry Bellefleur in HBO's True Blood.

Alexis Bledel-- One half of one of the small screen's most beloved mother-daughter duos, this Houston-born beauty is also a welcome presence on the silver screen. Her name has appeared in the credits of such diverse fare as Sin City, The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants and Tuck Everlasting.

Lauren Graham-- Stardom resulting from her role as Stars Hollow's modern-thinking mother Lorelei Gilmore may have led to performances in Bad Santa, Evan Almighty, Because I Said So and Flash of Genius, but TV buffs will soon welcome Graham's return to the small screen as the lead in the upcoming ABC comedy series The Bridget Show.

Fan Sites

Gilmore Girls News-- Along with a ton of trivia (who knew that the Dragonfly Inn had a starring role in The Waltons?), quotes and video clips, this definitive Gilmore Girls site also posts news of cast members' current projects.

Ultimately Gilmore-- Another site devoted to the denizens of Stars Hollow.

Gilmore Girls-- Several of the stars who once inhabited Stars Hollow-- including Chad Michael Murray, Keiko Agena and Emily Kuroda-- have paid a visit to this Gilmore Girls tribute site, which offers an episode guide, a list of music featured on the former WB/CW series, and an active message board and chat room.

Happy Days: Joanie and Chachi #9 in Romance Hall of Fame TV Weddings Category

Through the simple act of turning on their television sets, viewers invite the characters that inhabit each series into their lives, and on rare occasions those characters can begin to feel like family. Such was the case with the Cunningham clan, who shared the Happy Days of the 1950's and early 1960's with their TV audience for 11 seasons.

Over the passage of time, we witnessed Joanie Cunningham's (Erin Moran) transformation from "Shortcake" to soul mate for Fonzie's cousin Charles "Chachi" Arcola (Scott Baio), and on the 1984 series finale their walk down the aisle was a walk down memory lane for the show's fans.

Lovetripper Reader Recommendations

They just fit together perfectly!-- Sylvia

Because they loved each other in real life.-- Marissa

Oh wow, I haven't seen that show in a long time, but I do remember the wedding between Joanie and Chachi- Great show!-- Amy

Classic.-- Michael

Joanie and Chachi's relationship brings back memories of my high school love. Happy Days, indeed.-- Sandra

Cast

Erin Moran-- Taking a hiatus from Hollywood after her years as Joanie Cunningham, Moran made infrequent television appearances before showcasing her struggle with weight on Celebrity Fit Club Boot Camp. I can see me with 27 different dresses and no more room in my closet for anything else! Actually, this really describes my mother! My mother has taken over every single closet in the house, and it's a big house. She hasn't left room for anyone else's clothes!-- Pamela

This movie epitomizes my own life. I once was a caterer, and bent over backwards to make sure everyone else's wedding reception was "to die for." Yet, I've had so many disappointments in my own love life, so many that you could write a country-western song that would "just make you cry." I have a younger sister who has expected me to dote over her for all of her life, and she has caused me a ton of grief -- enough that you could write yet another tear-jerking western song. I hooked up my sister with her husband, and he has an enviable job in the limelight, and I haven't gotten the credit I deserve for setting my sister up with such a fantastic guy. Now she lauds this over me in her own special way. Enough said. There are enough similarities in the heroine's life in 27 Dresses that I totally related and adored the movie.-- Sheila

She is like so many women who want to find love but it never comes her way, but when it does, it is better than all the rest.-- Stacey

I loved everything about I really laughed and laughed till I cried during the bar scene-- Benny and the Jets!!! I already own this movie!-- Melody

I have 32.-- Jaime

I have watched this movie over and over. I think so many people can relate to being the wedding 'helper' so many times! The characters are down-to-earth, and the couple at the end is silly, goofy, and imperfect. Wonderful!-- Erika

I love this movie because it'S romantic but also because the casting is amazing ( Katherine Heigl is one of my favorite actresses)!-- Catherine

I love this movie because I see myself and I know that I'll soon marry my prince. I laughed and cried with her and then felt so
happy at the end- just like in real life I'll soon finally be the bride.-- Jacqueline

27 Dresses is one of the best romantic comedies I have ever seen. It also had a great story line. I would recommend this movie to anyone. GREAT MOVIE !!!!!
