Buffy The Vampire Slayer: Buffy and Angel #1 in Romance Hall of Fame Sci-Fi Couples Category
Years before the dawn of the Twilight phenomenon, the small screen shed light on another paranormal paramour and his mortal soul mate in Buffy The Vampire Slayer, a series which-- if its number one showing in our Top 10 countdown of the most romantic sci-fi couples of all time is any indication-- will remain a fan favorite for eternity.
During his three seasons on the cult hit, Angel (portrayed by actor David Boreanaz) experienced both redemption and romance in the arms of one least likely to love a bloodsucker-- vampire slayer Buffy Summers (played by actress Sarah Michelle Gellar), and in the process learned that a heart without a beat can still be broken.
Relive the moment that Buffy Summers, much like Juliet Capulet, discovers that her only love has sprung from her only hate in the episode that reveals Angel's true vampire nature:

Buffy and Angel's love will always be eternal, and true love can over come any differences, even undead ones!-- Sarah
Because their love was forbidden, just like in Twilight!-- Amber
Buffy and Angel are the most romantic couple because they have so many things working against their relationship but no matter what they go through they still love each other. For example, 1. Angel is a vampire, Buffy is a vampire slayer. 2. Angel can never be truly happy or he will become Angelus again (this really limits their relationship). 3. Buffy has to kill Angel. 4. Angel loves Buffy but realizes it can't work between them so he watches her from a distance and sees all of the other guys she dates over the course of the series, the worst probably being Spike as he and Angel are not on the greatest terms.-- Emily
I think they are the most romantic character because it's a spellbound relationship, think about they are risking everything! Angel is a vampire, obviously one trying to be good, he spent a majority of his life feasting on rat blood rather human's. Buffy is a vampire SLAYER! They were enemies but became a couple. Buffy had been killing vampires for years, and Angel was killing humans and trying to stay alive for his whole life! They put a aside their major differences and fell in love! Buffy knew she SHOULD kill Angel but didn't because of the impact her love had on their lives! I suppose they are one of the most romantic sci-fi couples in history! It has always been a tragic vampire romance tell between a typical human and vampire, yes that's along some of the same lines here but these two have more to lose and more difference than a normal human and vampire! She wants to kill him-it's almost a necessity- and he feels like if he doesn't kill her he WILL die. But they don't kill each other and it turns out to be an amazing relationship! LOVE STRUCK ROMANCE BETWEEN A VAMPIRE AND A SLAYER!-- Faith
They have an eternal love. They are both willing to give everything for each other and want nothing more then to be together....regardless of the danger and their extreme differences!-- Cyndel
Buffy/Angel was the most tragic and beautiful romance I ever saw on TV.-- Melanie
True love that is its own greatest obstacle. The ultimate star-crossed lovers, the very act of achieving happiness would destroy it.-- Toby
They make a good couple and team.-- Amy
I think that Buffy and Angel were the most romantic Sci-Fi/Fantasy couple because their relationship was like "forbidden fruit." Angel had a soul, but he couldn't love physically for fear of hurting the one he loved, so Buffy had to love him from a distance, so to speak. It was a romance that should have never happened, but was extremely amazing when it did.-- Kristin
I love Buffy and Angel because it seemed impossible that they could be together, but they loved each other enough to do it anyway:)-- Skye
Buffy and Angel had such a strong love and they would do anything for each other.-- Cassie
Because they had the hugest thing keeping them apart but they still managed to stay together. We will just forget that whole Angel series, okay? ;)-- Kirsten
A vampire slayer in love with a vampire is proof that opposites attract.-- Bridget
This couple is a classic example of the couple that can never really be together because it is for the good of others.-- Nadine
This is the most romantic couple because they love each other for who they are and not looks, money, popularity or even whether or not they're even human. its such an amazing show and they make a beautiful couple. They're there for each other when they're needed and they always know what's best for one another.-- Samantha
Is because they are TOTALLY in love and would die for each other. Even if it means that one would have to kill the other.-- Danielle
C'mon. Is there anyone else? A true love that transcends forbidden barriers is so sexy and hot.-- Jodi
Because they kept trying to make it work, even though it was doomed from the start.-- Christine
They had a passion that sizzled on the screen. You felt it as you watched them love each other knowing that they could never really be together. In an age where casual sex and quick relationships are the norm, their's was all about true love.-- Kristen
The love that can never be.-- Leslie
They're not the "perfect" couple.-- Peter
They loved each other so much, but could never really be together. Very intense and sad!-- Anonymous
He cheated death for her.-- Stacey
They are unusual, but really each thinks of themselves as unworthy of the other and they put the other first.-- Judy
I think Buffy and Angel are prime candidates for TV's hottest smallscreen couple because the sheer magnetism of what draws them together -- lust and bloodlust -- could be the same dynamic that is both of their undoings!-- Joseph
Classic could never really be together relationship.-- Adrienne
They look perfect together.-- Richard
They had the most passionate and intense relationship! Who can beat that?-- Candice
Roswell: Max and Liz # 2 in Romance Hall of Fame Sci-Fi TV Couples Category
Just as one touch of the hero's healing hand left its imprint on the show's heroine, the cosmic connection between a girl and her celestial soul mate has left an impression on the hearts of devoted Dreamers which, years after Roswell's final episode, has yet to fade away.
Over the course of three seasons, fans followed the love story of Max Evans (portrayed by actor Jason Behr), an alien hybrid from the famed Roswell incident who defies his stars to be with Liz Parker (played by actress Shiri Appleby), and in so doing this modern Romeo and Juliet create their own destiny.
Roswell Filming Locations
Casa Moreno Mexican Grill-- Although Alien Blasts aren't on the menu, with a little imagination Roswellians can picture the Pod Squad at this Covina, California eatery, which served as the exterior for The Crashdown Cafe. Located at 223 N. Citrus Avenue, the restaurant is open Monday - Saturday and features live entertainment on Friday nights and a banquet area for celebrations.
Vasquez Rocks-- Its jagged edged pointing toward the heavens, it comes as no surprise that Vasquez Rocks has become an iconic image for sci-fi fans over the years. Having appeared in numerous cinematic and small screen features, including both the TV version of Star Trek and its 2009 movie prequel, the formation played the part of the pod chamber from which the Royal Four emerged and the Granilith chamber-- a way to a home among the stars. Vasquez Rocks Natural Area Park is located at 10700 W. Escondido Canyon Road in Agua Dulce, between Santa Clarita and Palmdale.

Max and Liz are the definition of love. They are the only couple I've ever seen that portrays love perfectly. They show you that love is when you would do absolutely ANYTHING for the other person. It's about being there for each other 100% and even though times get hard, you know everything is going to be okay because of one single look or smile from the one you love. You trust them fully no matter what. They show you that love is difficult and being in a relationship is difficult but if you just give it a shot, it will all be worth it.-- Michelle
I have been obsess with Max & Liz since I was only ten years old. Even now, ten years later, I still aspire to have such a star-crossed relationship such as theirs. Everything about them seemed to fit and they fought for love even when Max was destined to be with Tess. I still read the fanfic & watch the DVD's & I am STILL taken away by the chemistry, the storyline, the sincerity portrayed.-- Faith
I think that Max and Liz is my favorite Sci-Fi TV couple because of their chemistry. In the show the show they truly loved each other against all odds. They always gave you hope no matter how dark the problems were. Even though Max was alien Liz was always their for him and didn't judge him. Max and Liz were everything to each other even they hurt each other. Plus Max showed you how to treat a girl. They actually made you believe in soul mates.-- Courtney
The first couple that got me hooked on romance AND sci-fi. A couple that makes me believe in destiny and the ones that have amazing chemistry! When they look in each other eyes, they can see their souls. Till this day, I still watch my DVDs to watch my favorite tv couple.-- Sopheap
Max healed Liz and both connected spiritually and formed a deep love for each other. This healing of Liz affected her in a way that no other normal crush would have. Max allowed Liz to really 'see him' when she saw images of his life when they touched. She did EVERYTHING for Max and really respected him and visa versa. There will never be another love like Max and Liz...-- Justine
Max and Liz were sweet and pure and romantic and just perfect in every way. Liz was the smart girl next door and Max was the dashing heroic alien from the next galaxy. It was a timeless love match made in the heavens and here on earth.-- Joan
Their love surpassed boundaries and what they have is nothing I've seen before in other shows. They really set the bar higher...-- Anna
They show what true love really is.-- Krista
They're everything I've always wanted and more. I've never seen anything like it before.-- Chris
I believe they are the most romantic couple because (even though they are not real and are just acting) they look into each others' souls. You can see it in their eyes, and because they both know exactly how one another feel about each other... not only because they can feel it, but they can see it. through the alien "abilities" of Max they are able to get flashes of one another... and not only see what the other has seen, but they are able to feel how the other was feeling at that exact moment. This ability has caused an eternal bond that links them for eternity. I also believe they are the most romantic couple because they beat the odds. They were able to over come every obstacle that came there way: alien hunters, parents, evil aliens (Tess) -- and not only be together, but still have time to appreciate each other. Just watch season one episode Sexual Healing... the nose grazes, the passion, the consideration... I do not even know how to describe it. This was one of my favorite shows... I am topsy tervy over which couple i like better... Max and Liz or Michael and Maria... but when it comes down to it I believe Max and Liz are the most romantic couple... not only of this program, but of every program. I only hope and pray that some day I have that kind of romance in my life.-- Jennifer
They are soul mates.. what's more romantic then that! Max risked EVERYTHING for Liz! His Life! and eventually Liz does the same for him!-- Karen
I think this is the most romantic couple because even though Max was different, he always acted out with more human kindness than any other actual human being would. He tried to compensate for his being different and that made him so much better to love. Liz stayed by Max through everything, even though the situation with Tess was hard and it did cause her alot of heartache, she loved Max more than her own life as he loved her. They always treated each other with respect and with kindness and like I said, even though they had very hard times and their relationship was almost impossible to continue, they did it and they conquered every challenge. I think this is by far the best love story and Romantic Couple I've seen. They deserve to win because when I watch Roswell and see them together, it gives me tingles and makes me wish I had people like Max Evans & Liz Parker on my side.-- Jessica
They were born to love each other, they loved each other before they knew each other, and soul mates should never be apart. Anyone who can stand the tests of time as they did/do, should be the couple of the century...She sacrificed and so did he. True love only comes once and when destiny calls, you take it.-- Lori
They had an amazing chemistry that just surpassed all expectations of what love is.-- Aileen
Max & Liz were the classic forbidden love story of all time. Those 2 characters made my heart melt just watching them that 1st season of Roswell when it aired in 1999. From the very 1st episode I was hooked. I purchased the DVD's when they came out years just so I could watch them over and over again. Their forbidden love makes them the super couple of all time.-- Angela
From the pilot episode of Roswell it became apparent Max Evans and Liz Parker had a bond between them that no one could break, even though they didn't even know each other that well. Then, as episodes went by they got closer and closer together and they could not stand to be apart. Their chemistry made me question what was so great about normal!-- Kady
Of all the TV couples that I have seen those two made it look the most real. The looks that they gave each other made you see two people that were truly in love. The emotion between them felt real the good and the bad times, it made feel part of them. You wanted to find someone to share those kind of feelings with.-- Robert
They are beyond connected to each other. They're desperately in love & amazing... :)-- Michelle
A deep storyline, with interesting characters who had to in the end deliberately choose to be together and risk everything they ever knew to do it. Smallville copied the same formula, fitting the Superman model into Roswell.-- Steve
It's a modern show, but they have an on-screen style and presence that remind me of classic films.-- Jason
Max and Liz belong together. Whatever happens, they are part of the soul one an other. They are faithful, even when they aren't together, even when events pull them apart it is so strong they don't really see anything than each other.-- Claude
They look soo good together, both of them are soo hot and cute!!!They are always fighting for their love no matter what, and it feel the chemistry on the screen is so romantic!!!-- Ana
Most romantic, full of passion...-- Gavra
As a young teen I watched this series and fell in love with the romance of Max and Liz. I recently bought the series on DVD and fell in love all over again. The series is timeless and captivating. It reminds me of the struggles that Edward and Bella go through in Twilight. No matter how old you are Max and Liz will touch your heart, and bring back memories of your first love.-- Misty
Max and Liz chose their own destiny. When everything told them they couldn't be together, they fought against the odds and made it work.-- Erin
I started watching Roswell when I was in high school. There was just something about the idea of a human girl and an alien falling in love, aside from that, there was humor and sci-fi. The fans were robbed. Many of us hated the direction that the show went. To us, season three wasn't enough to repair all that was done. Despite all that, I'm still a huge Roswell (Max/Liz) fan. At twenty something, this show still manages to pull me in. Shiri and Jason had great chemistry with each other. I mean he risked his life just to save hers. How romantic is that? She doesn't have to help him, but she wants to. Somewhere between the awkward situations, running from the FBI and trying to find the truth, we got to see a little romance. The writers must have done something right with that because now, seven years after it ended, there are still thousands of fans.-- Alysia
The chemistry between the two is untouched by any other couple.-- Carolyn
Because they have the most amazing on screen chemistry, they only need a look and you really believe it, so much more than any other couple on screen.-- Zoe
Max risked everything when he brought Liz back to life. He loved her from day one. Despite their ups and downs they ended up together because of that love.-- Ashley
The intensity of their love for each other. The forbidden Romeo/Juliet aspect of their relationship. How passionate they are for each other and in the end over come all obstacles to be together.-- Mandy
In the episode 'Four Aliens' Tess tells Liz "Max loves you. Every time we were together. Every time we kissed. He was thinking of you. He had these flashes... that I saw... and... they were always of you."The acting and script was so good that I believed this. No matter what happened they loved each other. If that's not romantic I don't know what is.-- Suzanne
Because since the beginning they are meant to be together and Liz said at the end of the show : "I would do anything... if it means being with you..."They ended up together because it was so obvious...-- Morgane
Lax aka Max and Liz is one of the all time romantic couples just for the simple fact their love for me was true honest and they were always meant to be. Their relationship started friends and slowly blossom into true love but what capture me most to their story was Max had been secretly in love with Liz ever since they were in the third grade and the fact that Max was willing to risk being expose as an alien to save Liz's life, that's what i call true love. in return Liz risks her life to help Max through situations and Liz brought Max back to life with one kiss-- that is what I call true undying love and Shiri Appleby and Jason Behr had amazing chemistry.-- Shakirah
Max and Liz went through trials and tribulations in the first season to be together and at the end, Liz let Max fulfil his destiny and he didn't want that, he wanted Liz. In the second season, they were at odds with each other about the destiny issue and in end, Max got with Tess and Liz got with Sean. At the end, Max let Tess leave with the Granolith and he got back with Liz and they got married... They showed that true love exists, even though that they were 2 different species.... They gave everyone hope to find their own knight in shining armor.-- Jeniffer
They had the most amazing chemistry on the show, pure love, sometimes they had it rough but in the end love prevailed!-- Lindy
Max and Liz are the sweetest and most romantic couple out there. They are truly in love.-- Jaye
I think they are the most romantic couple 'cause it's the story of being soul mates. And who is not wishing to find his/her soul mate to live happily together ever after?-- Nina
Best couple out there. Watch a show of Roswell, you will see.-- Matt
Max and Liz really have something special and although there are events that may force them apart, their love for each other still persists and is evident in everything they do. They are the perfect couple and definitely the most romantic!-- Bianca
They are the most romantic because they have been through it all and came out getting married. They are the best couple in TV history.-- Joseph
Doctor Who: The Doctor and Rose #3 in Romance Hall of Fame Sci-Fi TV Couples Category
The poet Henry Van Dyke once wrote that"...for those who love, time is eternity." The sentiment certainly rings true for the couple voted into third place in our romance Hall of Fame. Traveling through the passage of the years and marveling at all the universe holds, the last of the Time Lords finally found his twin soul in a 21st century girl. Parted by fate, their parallel lives may never touch again, but no matter where his journey may lead, a part of The Doctor will always remain with his companion, Rose Tyler.
Lovetripper Reader Recommendations
I find Rose's devotion to the doctor and willingness to give up everything for him touching, and it was great to see the doctor show his vulnerability with Rose.-- Geoff
The Doctor and Rose shared a beautiful story, simply because their love is forbidden. He must not fall in love, yet it does quite clearly. The Doctor is a great lord of time, he saves race after race, prevents destruction of planets & is the last of his kind. And he falls in love with a 21st century London shop girl. Beautiful.-- Stephanie
Because they complete and support one another even in the darkest of times. She isn't particularly beautiful or brilliant, but she is exactly what he needs. She is his home, his family, the one thing he believes in.-- Rae
Even when they are ripped apart and separated by universes they still love each other and even the knowledge they will likely never see each other again, it's still there.-- Dawn
The charismatic doctor falls for the ordinary Rose... dreams can come true!!!-- Fae
Because it's so epic. It spans much more than time (and space). It spanned universes and new bodies. Nothing devastated as much as when they were torn apart from one another at the end of the second season.-- Sara
Because they are so tender and subtle and the caring grew gradually.-- Richard
They are amazing and no matter how long they are apart they always find a way back together and hopefully Rose is back for David Tennant's last episode as The Doctor.-- Jenna
They have so much compassion for each other and it's a subtle on screen romance that leaves you wanting more.-- Abbie
The Doctor (before meeting Rose) was lost and alone and hurt because of what happened to his people, but she has helped him far more than anyone else could have during that time, and as everyone else could see he fell for her! The Doctor actually fell in love before our eyes! They have gone through so much from all their adventures, to Doomsday, and then finally Journey's End. I love all the companions, but Rose and the Doctor have captivated me with their adventures and their adorable scenes. Best sci-fi couple I've ever seen!-- Alexa
The chemistry between the two came through.-- Thomas
The Doctor is still holding a torch for Rose Tyler.-- Ralph
The Doctor was scared from War and lose, hurt and lonely. Rose bored with mundane life. They immediately connected, first as friends then a love that grew, endured even with his regeneration. A tension was always there but nothing admitted till they were torn apart. Their relationship was touching, had healing in it and had the feeling of love without lust. When the Doctor loses Rose his pain is so palatable. When they reunited I felt their joy..They will always be soul mates to me.-- Jennifer
His life of constant travel continually tore at them. It was heartbreaking to see them care for one another so much, yet not be able to be together.-- Cynthia
This is a love that travels through time and space. They will always love each other.-- Patrizia
They would do anything possible to save each other, even give their lives. Their love is unspoken, but unmistakeably present.-- Charles
As Woody Allen wrote in 'Shadows and Fog', "There's only one kind of love that lasts - unrequited love. It stays with you forever." And the intense bond between this pair is truly doomed to that sad fate. Their relationship is fraught with danger and peppered with myriad and seemingly insurmountable obstacles: mortality vs immortality; an entire universe of physical separation to name two. During their partnership both the Doctor and Rose make selfless sacrifices for the other. Rose, proving that love is stronger than space & time, manages against every possible to find her way back to the man she loves twice. In turn, the Doctor sacrifices first his life (9th) for his companion and then the sole possibility of happiness and the end of his interminable loneliness for Rose by holding back his feelings and giving her the "Doctor" she can be with for the rest of her life. Sob!-- H.
David Tennant-- Voted the world's "sexiest Scot," it comes as no surprise that Tennant had no trouble tackling the role of Casanova before taking his first trip in the TARDIS. His talents allowing for easy transition between heroic and villainous characters, fantasy fans may also recognize the 10th Time Lord as Barty Crouch Jr. in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.
Christopher Eccleston-- The first actor to portray the man from Gallifrey since 1989, the ninth Doctor is known for his roles in 28 Days Later and Elizabeth as well as his stint on another sci-fi hit, Heroes.
Billie Piper-- At 15 the youngest recording artist ever to reach the top of the UK charts with her hit "Because We Want To" (the video of which, foreshadowing her foray into sci-fi, features the star emerging from a UFO) the British beauty followed her two-season stint on Doctor Who with performances which propelled her into the past, ranging from a television version of Jane Austen's Northanger Abbey to The Ruby in the Smoke before taking on a racy role in Secret Diary of a Call Girl.
The X-Files: Mulder and Scully #4 in Romance Hall of Fame Sci-Fi TV Couples Category
At times as covert as their assignments, the relationship between FBI agents Fox Mulder and Dana Scully was a study in subtlety, and over the course of its nine-season stint on FOX fans found themselves not only wanting to believe in the existence of extraterrestrials, but also in the possibility of passion between their favorite pair of paranormal investigators. As trust became tenderness and their mutual respect transformed into romance, in later seasons the truth was out there-- Fox Mulder and Dana Scully were in love, and their feelings for each other land them in fourth place in our sci-fi couples countdown.

Even though their relationship was more subtle, I think that they had a unique relationship. I also like how their relationship developed throughout the series and in the movies also.-- C.L.
I think Mulder and Scully are the most romantic couple because even though they are co-workers they are so supportive of one another and have such great chemistry. I love watching them together.-- Kristen
The classic love/hate push and pull with strange supernatural stuff creating a murky stage.-- Jennifer
They liked each other but they never really did anything about. That seems to hold true for people in the real life and that is why it is my pick.-- Amy H.
They were totally independent yet still needed each other.-- Deanna
Mulder and Scully are the ultimate Scifi couple. They set the tone for the banter and sexual tension that has characterized all the amazing couples that have come after them. Also, their love was based on respect and trust. Thus, they were a couple that you could actually root for.-- Amber

What they had was so real, it was based on a close friendship and a deep caring and gradually blossomed. Surpressed but yet emotionally charged. Not thriving on sex, that wasn't even an issue in their relationship. What Piper and Leo had was true unconditional love.-- Ronald
I love this show, and I think the way Piper and Leo can connect and keep fighting to be together is what true love is.-- Danielle
After all of the hardship and obstacles, they still had a strong relationship.-- Theodore
Piper and Leo are one of the most romantic couples you will ever see (besides Romeo and Juliet and Bella and Edward of courseeee!!!!) This is so because when Piper first meet Leo you saw it in their eyes how much they loved each other right then and there. Their love was true when they were fighting, flirting, just having a sad moment, or kicking demon butts but most of all was when they are together you saw their love through all their actions, and words they spoke. Their love was passionate throughout the entire show. Even when they thought one of them was dead. As more seasons became more passionate and loving and romantic Piper and Leo got.-- Alexandra L.
Over and over again, Piper and Leo fight to stay together, through the drama that strikes their lives, through death, betrayal, and tragedy, in the long run, they still manage to be together and love each other.-- Rebecca
Piper and Leo are two very similar people both very... special. Leo is a healer and Piper is a witch-one of the three Charmed Ones. They are such a wonderful couple they stay together through the thick and thin. Knowing the thin is always most likely over all, since every day the seem to have some sort of demon after them and the other charmed Ones. They have children together, knowing they could be able to handle it in every single one of their situations, as long as the other was there with them. Every time something happens to one of them, the other is hurt too. They are fantastic! I love the story behind Charmed, and Leo and Piper!-- Faith M.
Why I think they are the most romantic couple is because they are great together on the show you can't even tell their love isn't real. I know alot of t.v. shows are about falling into love and getting married but these two are a one of a kind couple. I can't stop watching their romance. I love Charmed!-- Alexandra G.
They went through so much to be together and in the end, they were for the rest of their lives!-- Barbara
I think they are because they love each other a lot but they show examples of a real couple because they fight, separate and have kids that's why I think they are the best couple.-- Rudy
Charmed is awesome when Leo Holds Piper and tells her he loves her. It is so Emotional. PS:I almost Cried-- Faith
Both Piper and Leo share a bond of love that transcends every obstacle life throws at them (death, separation, fights, and the magic forces that are constantly driving a wedge between them but don't keep them apart).-- Daniel
I loved the way they took their time to bring Piper and Leo together. There was so much chemistry between them. I loved their wedding day, the music and the beautiful balls of light which surrounded them. They were just so magical together.-- Laura

Buffy The Vampire Slayer: Buffy and Spike #6 in Romance Hall of Fame Sci-Fi TV Couples Category
Like so many who find themselves numbed by their day to day existence, Buffy Summers' search for a way to feel alive again eventually led her into the arms of a "bad boy." Although not feelings in their purest form, like those she experienced with first love Angel (who will make an appearance later on in the countdown) fans witnessed over the years as revulsion between two former enemies turned into respect and lust transformed into a surprisingly tender love which ultimately renewed both their souls.

Actually I think Buffy and Spike were the Most Romantic Sci-Fi/Fantasy TV Couple. Spike had a connection and feeling towards Buffy that Angel could never have. There was friction and tenderness between them. Spike and Buffy should have been the ultimate couple at the end of the series. Angel was too angelic and Spike had character.-- Johnny

Melinda and Jim's story has touched me because it shows that love can conquer all, even death, if the love is strong enough. I feel that their story is proof that love is real and that it can get people through anything if it is strong and true.-- Candie

Roswell's Michael and Maria: #8 in the Romance Hall of Fame's Sci-Fi TV Couples Category
The personification of teenage alienation, Michael Guerin is an alien/human hybrid hoping to find love and acceptance among the stars before realizing that he had already found his true home in the arms of a Jetta-driving waitress.
Airing for three seasons, the former WB/UPN series revolved around the lives of four Roswell aliens who hold on to their humanity as they explore their "not of this earth" abilities" and two teenage girls who help to hide their extraterrestrial identity as they embark on all-too-human relationships.
Although years have passed since the show's closing credits rolled across TV screens for the last time, fans' passion for more of the sweet and spicy love stories between star-crossed lovers Max and Liz (who will make an appearance later on our list of top 10 sci-fi TV couples) and the more temperamental twosome of Michael and Maria still runs as hot as the bottles of Tabasco sent to studio executives in a campaign which once saved the series from cancellation.

Michael and Maria are my favorite couple because not only are they a sexy couple but because besides the alien aspect, they are real. They don't hold back and they fight, they love, they bicker, they laugh, they are true real couple. Majandra and Brendan had such chemistry that it flowed off the screen into my heart.-- Sarah
If you recall the show their relationship lasted the longest. It's hard to get a man to change, everyone women knows that, but Micheal did try (wasn't too successful) but they where always there for each other, comforting each other and their relationship wasn't like the typical "I love you so much blah blah." Their arguing and trying too hard or not trying at all was so cute.-- Bianka
They are like fire and ice, like day and night, like a shout and whisper, they cannot exist without each other and this is beautiful.-- Dorota
They are home for each other.-- Janiana
Because they love each other soo much that they can't be together. And they are both funny and I think they are a cute couple together. And they want to make each other happy. Their relationship is like roller coaster but they will always be there for each other.-- Catherine
I watched Roswell 1999-2002. I'm fixing to be 18 and i still read the Michael and Maria fan fiction, and trust me there is not enough because I have read it over and over countless times. It doesn't ever get old because that's how amazing it was.-- Jessica
No matter how much they argued or pushed each other away, it was always obvious that they loved each other and didn't want anyone else.-- Angelene
Frustration slowly begins to transform into a budding friendship as Michael, with a reluctant Maria in tow, goes in search of answers to his alien history in 285 South, an episode from the first season of Roswell:

Pushing Daisies: #9 in the Romance Hall of Fame Sci-Fi TV Couples Category
The most lovable non-tactile twosome on TV, Ned the pie maker and his reanimated childhood sweetheart Charlotte "Chuck" Charles made conversing with corpses look cute for two seasons before the highly-stylized show, much like the dearly departed whose suspicious deaths were solved on the series, met its untimely end.
As sweet as the honey cultivated by the leading man's beekeeper beloved, Pushing Daisies is the surrealistic tale of Ned, a baker who possesses the power to bring the dead back to life, if only long enough to collect clues which will lead him and his private eye partner Emerson Cod to their killer.
Although one touch is all it takes to nudge the deceased from the netherworld, his paranormal prowess comes with a price-- if Ned does not return the dead to their former state by touching them a second time within one minute, another life will be taken in their place. This practice doesn't pose a problem until the pie maker hears of the demise of Chuck who, once awakened from her unnatural slumber, joins the crime-solving business with her hero-- the man she can never touch again.
This is soooooo cute and romantic. Ned loves her and he can't even touch her! She's dead he brought her back and now,he can't touch her or she'll be gone forever! He loves her and you can tell she feels the same way! It a funny cute romance that's a bit awkward and aggravating! The can't TOUCH! The way he gazes into her eyes seems to be enough. Not to forget the way he looks at her.....*sigh* I love this couple and think they fit the bill for the world's most romantic scifi characters!-- Faith
Ned the pie maker and Chuck his life long sweetheart are the most romantic. Due to their trying circumstances, they cherish each other.-- Phyllis
I think Chuck and Ned from Pushing Daisies are the most romantic couple b/c he brought her back to life knowing full
well what would happen. They really truly love each other, not just due to the physical love since they can't actually touch each other, but actual true love. They find cute creative little ways to kiss w/o ever really touching (like the adorable plastic wrap
scene--loved it!).-- Heather
Cast
Lee Pace-- Before portraying Pushing Daisies' pie-making protagonist, Pace appeared on another short-lived TV contemporary cult classic, Wonderfalls.

Kristin Chenoweth-- Before Olive Snook crooned renditions of "Birdhouse in Your Soul" and "Hopelessly Devoted to You," the actress who inhabited the role of the lovelorn waitress belted out tunes on Broadway in Wicked and Candide.
