I live in Miami, Florida and have been married for six months. I enjoy travel and hope my new husband and I can travel often!

I honeymooned in the Dominican Republic, and I'm happy to say we had a great time!
Ted and I married in Miami then hopped a flight for the Dominican Republic just a few hours later. It was a fairly short flight to the DR and I was surprised to see what a busy airport Punta Cana had. It is built sort of like a thatched hut; we walked off the airplane on steps rather than a jetway so I had a good view of the airport. My honeymoon had begun!
The drive from the airport to our resort, Bavaro Barcelo Palace Resort, took about half an hour. We had selected the resort at the recommendation of our travel agent; some friends of ours had vacationed in Punta Cana and liked it (but not liked their resort so we were open for suggestions).

Our resort was an all-inclusive which was great; this was the first time we've stayed at an all-inclusive but I hope it won't be the last! It was so great to be able to get anything--meals, drinks, pool towels--without paying extra. Also, we were able to visit other hotels in the Barcelo complex without charge. One day we hopped the train that connects the resorts and went to lunch at another property,
all part of
the package.
Our room was very nice. The hotel is built in huge blocks, each three stories tall, I think. We were on the top floor. We were just a short walk from the beach which definitely was the best part of the property. The beach went on forever and was shaded by tall palm trees.
I'd go back in a minute!

Sounds like it was written by a 12 year old. It told me nothing useful about the place at all.
