October was a month to celebrate family for
party princess Paris Hilton. Along
with friends Bijou Phillips and Frankie
Muniz from the TV show Malcolm In The
Middle, the heiress helped to throw a birthday
bash in Las Vegas for sister Nicky.
Held at The Hard Rock Hotel and Casino, the
fete included a cake fashioned in the shape
of one of Nicky's signature handbags. Leaving
the hotel, the party continued into the wee
hours at nightclub Body English, which was
decorated especially for the evening with
a James Bond-theme design. Later in the month
another birthday bash was held for sibling
Barron HIlton at the paparazzi hangout The
Ivy Restarant in Los Angeles.
Meanwhile, Paris' "Simple Life"
co-star Nicole Richie spent a day in
October with boyfriend DJ AM, letting her
inner child play at Disneyland. The couple
have recently been spotted wearing matching
rings. Are they commitment rings, which are
all the rage with the Tinseltown set, or has
a secret celebrity ceremony taken place? Only
time will tell.
Actress Goldie Hawn returned to India
recently to film a follow-up documentary highlighting
efforts to save the elephant population of
that country. While her long-time paramour,
Kurt Russell, was unable to accompany
the traveling thespian, the trip was still
a family outing with Russell's son along for
the ride.
It is well known that Italy is one of Prince
Charles' favorite vacation destinations.
While the future king usually spends his time
in the country dabbling in watercolors, on
this trip the prince sampled the cuisine at
the Salone del Gusto international food festival,
which was held in Turin. The champion of environmental
causes also checked out local vineyards before
jetting off to Turkey for a business trip,
then on to Jordan, where the royal spent time
at the Ajloun nature preserve and meeting
with monarch and friend King Abdullah
and his wife, Queen Rania.
In other royal news, Zara Phillips
was on hand at Buckingham Palace to watch
as her grandmother, Queen Elizabeth, bestowed
the honor of an MBE (member of the British
Empire) upon her latest boyfriend, rugby player
Mike Tindall. The twosome have been
an item for almost a year.
Considered pop royalty in England, Victoria
Adams (aka Posh Spice of the now defunct
Spice Girls) traveled to Shanghai to promote
the Elite Model Look 2004 International finals.
A
couple of famous faces have walked down the
aisle recently, only this time as bridesmaids.
No Doubt's lead singer Gwen
Stefani was on hand to support her
bandmate Tom Dumont as he wed longtime
love Mieke Brooks Binzer at the El Encanto
Hotyel and Garden Villas in Santa Barbara,
California (the singer even designed the bride's
wedding gown), and "Newlywed" Jessica
Simpson was a stunning vision in pink
at the wedding of her tour stylist, which
was held at the Beverly Hills Presbyterian
Church.
Ben Affleck may have struck out with
past flame Jennifer
Lopez, but it appears he has hit a
home run in the love department with his latest
girlfriend, actress Jennifer Garner.
The pair were spotted at Fenway Park in Boston
cheering on the "Daredevil" actor's
favorite team, the Boston Red Sox.
The
new face of Chanel No. 5, Nicole Kidman,
mingled with royalty at The Hotel Pozzo di
Borgo in Paris at the unveiling of the famous
perfume's latest ad campaign. Among the guests
were Princess Caroline of Monaco, who
along with her progeny-- Charlotte, Andrea
and Pierre Casiraghi, dined on roasted lobster
and seabass.
"The Bachelorette" Trista
Sutter cheered on from the sidelines
as her husband Ryan Sutter tackled
the Ironman Triathlon World Championship in
Kona, Hawaii. Out of 1,700 competitiors, the
reality star came in 756th.
