Bringing a little
heavenly inspiration to Sin City, model Naomi Campbell
once again strapped on her angel wings for a Victoria's
Secret photo shoot on the Las Vegas Strip.
The bells of
the Campanile echo in St. Mark's Square (Piazza San Marco),
one of the most romantic locales in Venice, Italy, which
was enjoyed by actors Angelina Jolie, Will Smith
and wife, actress Jada Pinkett-Smith during the premiere
of the animated comedy "A Shark Tale".
The end of summer means returning to the daily grind, and
stars are no exception to the rule. A romantic romp through
Europe ended in Barcelona, Spain for lovebirds Harrison
Ford and Calista Flockhart when Calista began production
on her latest feature film "Fragile".
A woman of many
moods, Madonna began the month of September decked
out in the latest designer duds during her stay at the famed
George V Hotel in Paris. By month's end, the music
icon had embarked on a spiritual sojourn to Tel Aviv, Israel
with her husband, director Guy Ritchie.
Beyonce
was a bathing beauty during her Mediterranean holiday with
beau Jay-Z, which included several stops along the south
of France and a stay at Monaco's prestigious Beach
Hotel.
Denmark's Crown
Prince Frederik and Princess Mary chanted "Hellas!"
with the rest of the crowd at the 2004 Summer Olympic Games
in Athens, Greece. The games hold a sentimental spot in
the hearts of the royal couple, who met during the Sydney,
Australia Olympics in 2000.
Known as the land where country music reigns supreme, Nashville,
Tennessee played host to British royal heartthrob Prince
William when he spent one of the last weeks of his summer
holiday at the family home of fellow St. Andrews Univeristy
student Anna Sloan.
There's no place like home, even if you are royalty. Crown
Princess Maxima of Holland took a short respite from
her royal duties this summer and paid a visit to her homeland
of Argentina, where she embarked on a shopping
excursion in Buenos Aires with her mother and baby daughter,
Princess Amalia.
Simon LeBon may have sung about "Rio" in his
1980's Duran Duran hit song, but the pop icon and his wife
Yasmin chose the island of Fermentera, which is located
near both Majorca and Ibiza, to close out their summer
holiday.
Combining business with pleasure, supermodel Linda Evangelista
struck a pose for a fashion campaign in front of several
of Australia's most beloved landmarks, including the
Sydney Opera House and Sydney Harbour Bridge. The
fashionista turned the photo shoot into a two week vacation
and toured several of the wonders that can be found in the
land Down Under.
Complying with royal tradition, Prince Charles embarked
on a late summer holiday in Scotland. His paramour Camilla
Parker Bowles by his side, the two enjoyed exhibitions
of traditional dancing and the tossing of the caber at the
Highland Games before retiring to the solitude of The Castle
of Mey, which was once a summer residence belonging to The
Queen Mother. Their holiday also included outdoor pursuits with
Queen Elizabeth at Balmoral.
Tom Hanks
and his wife, actress Rita Wilson, cast away their
cares this summer as they drifted past the white
washed houses that dot the coastline on the tiny Greek
island of Antiparos aboard a yacht dubbed "Phocea".
Once a place of inspiration for Matisse, today St.
Tropez enthralls the world's most prominent celebrities
with its panoramic beauty. "Unfaithful" star Olivier
Martinez was first spotted enjoying the St. Tropez
highlife on P. Diddy's yacht, then days later
in a more tranquil mode, adrift on the sea aboard
the vessel he and his fiancee, singer Kylie Minogue,
christened "White Wings".
The island of Tjoeme
is a royal retreat for Norway's Crown Prince Haakon
and Crown Princess Mette-Marit. Only a few hours
from Oslo, this holiday haven was the perfect spot for Norway's
future king to teach the couple's young son Marius
the fine art of windsurfing.
The eyes of the world are focused on the ancient land of
Greece this Olympic year, and all eyes were on Naomi
Campbell as she partied at Privilege Nightclub in Athens.
Dressed as a mythical goddess, the runway beauty combined
business with pleasure, promoting her appearance on the
cover of Greek Vogue magazine and kicking up her heels on
the dancefloor.
Recently back from their honeymoon, Spain's Crown Prince
Felipe and Princess Letizia lodged at the Hotel
Camino Real while on an offical stop at Mexico
City. The visit, a homecoming of sorts for the princess,
who was once employed as a journalist in the country, included
a spiritual sojourn to Guadalupe's Basilica and a tour of
the Spanish Cultural Centre.
