Tom Hanks
and his wife, actress Rita Wilson, cast away their
cares this summer as they drifted past the white
washed houses that dot the coastline on the tiny Greek
island of Antiparos aboard a yacht dubbed "Phocea".
Once a place of inspiration for Matisse, today St.
Tropez enthralls the world's most prominent celebrities
with its panoramic beauty. "Unfaithful" star Olivier
Martinez was first spotted enjoying the St. Tropez
highlife on P. Diddy's yacht, then days later
in a more tranquil mode, adrift on the sea aboard
the vessel he and his fiancee, singer Kylie Minogue,
christened "White Wings".
The island of Tjoeme
is a royal retreat for Norway's Crown Prince Haakon
and Crown Princess Mette-Marit. Only a few hours
from Oslo, this holiday haven was the perfect spot for Norway's
future king to teach the couple's young son Marius
the fine art of windsurfing.
The eyes of the world are focused on the ancient land of
Greece this Olympic year, and all eyes were on Naomi
Campbell as she partied at Privilege Nightclub in Athens.
Dressed as a mythical goddess, the runway beauty combined
business with pleasure, promoting her appearance on the
cover of Greek Vogue magazine and kicking up her heels on
the dancefloor.
Recently back from their honeymoon, Spain's Crown Prince
Felipe and Princess Letizia lodged at the Hotel
Camino Real while on an offical stop at Mexico
City. The visit, a homecoming of sorts for the princess,
who was once employed as a journalist in the country, included
a spiritual sojourn to Guadalupe's Basilica and a tour of
the Spanish Cultural Centre.
The
Kahala
Mandarin Oriental Hotel in Honolulu, Hawaii
was a holiday hideaway for lovebirds Sandra Bullock
and boyfriend, Jesse James of "Monster Garage" fame.
Other celebrities who have enjoyed the ambiance found at Mandarin
Oriental Hotels, which are located throughout America,
Asia and Europe, include Lance Armstrong, Michelle Yeoh and
Isabella Rossellini.
Charlotte Church may have the "Voice of An Angel",
but the songstress indulged in more earthly delights on her
holiday in Ibiza.
A playground for the rich and famous, Charlotte chose the
locale to let her hair down with a few of her best friends.
Dutch Prince Willem-Alexander and Princess Maxima
opted for a holiday under the Tuscan
sun, trekking through the Italian countryside where the grapes
used in Chainti wine ripen on the vine.
Not all the
stars have spent the summer months in leisurely pursuits.
Find out where some of your favorite celebrities have been
working in front of the camera:
"Pirates of The Caribbean" star Keira Knightley
has taken on the mantle of lead character Elizabeth Bennett
in the adaptation of Jane Austen's "Pride and Prejudice",
also starring Dame Judi Dench. To capture the proper Regency
atmosphere, scenes have been filmed in several of England's
most refined estates, including Chatsworth House and Haddon
Hall, which moviegoers may remember as the castle used
in "The Princess Bride".
Keira's onscreen paramour Orlando Bloom is currently
filming "Elizabethtown" in Versailles, Kentucky
alongside "Spiderman" heroine Kirsten Dunst.
Versailles is located in the heart of bluegrass country
and is renowned for its thoroughbreds. www.downtownversaillesky.com
Orlando's "Lord of The Rings" co-star Elijah
Wood is spending July and August traveling through
Prague in
a Trabant for his role in the upcoming "Everything
Is Illuminated", based on the best-selling novel by

Paradise Island in
the Bahamas was a paradise found for costars Salma Hayek
and Pierce Brosnan, who stayed in the luxurious Atlantis
Resort and Casino, which boasts three clubs, a golf
course and spa, during the filming of their latest
movie, "After The Sunset".
Some of the actors of the upcoming biopic on Johnny
Cash, which stars Joaquin Phoenix as The Man In Black,
took time out from filming to make a pilgrimage to
