This year, the survey revealed these top honeymoon destinations:

1. Hawaii (the eighth year in the #1 position!)
2. Jamaica (and considered the sexiest honeymoon destination in the Caribbean)
3. Mexico
4. Tahiti including Moorea and Bora Bora
5. St. Lucia
6. Italy (tops for food and culture)
7. U.S. Virgin Islands
8. Aruba
9. Las Vegas
10. Bermuda

The survey also revealed these choices:

Ultimate honeymoon suite: Overwater bungalow, Bora Bora Lagoon Resort, French Polynesia

Ultimate resort for seclusion: Bora Bora Lagoon Resort, French Polynesia

Most luxurious bathroom: Four Seasons Resort, Hualalai, Hawaii

Best resort spa: Grand Wailea Resort & Spa in Maui

And these cities ranked as top city honeymoon destinations:

1. Paris
2. Honolulu
3. Venice
4. San Francisco
5. Sydney, Australia

The top destination wedding locations:

1. Hawaii
2. Jamaica

The research, done by the Fairchild Bridal Infobank, came up with some other very interesting facts about honeymooning:

• Average honeymoon costs $3,700
  
• Average length of honeymoon is eight days
  
• 10% of newlyweds honeymoon by cruise ship
• 10% of marriages are destination weddings
  
• 40% of honeymooners will stay at a resort vs. 27% at a large hotel vs. 10% at a small hotel
