April 2007 -- During its run from 1994 through 2003,
each episode of the family favorite "Touched By An Angel"
concluded with the image of a dove in flight, and on April 28, 2007
life imitated art as Roma Downey and her soul mate, "Survivor"
producer Mark Burnett, opened a heart-shaped basket and released a white
dove at the end of a 30-minute ceremony that united the couple for eternity.
The lovebirds, who stood beneath a flower-bedecked arch erected on a
cliff at their Malibu estate, kept their eyes on the California skies
as a plane flew overhead bearing a banner displaying a fairytale pronouncement
".....and they lived happily ever after."
According to People Magazine's online site, following
the mid-day nuptials the newlyweds joined Della Reese (both a friend
of the bride and acting officiant), the couple's children from previous
marriages and the groom's parents for a feast of broiled lobster tails,
shrimp cocktails and lobster salad.
The couple, who became engaged in November 2006 in Zihautenejo,
Mexico, chose an equally exotic honeymoon itinerary, with a trip to
Jordan followed by a London excursion.
