The Brazilian Wedding of Tania Mara
March 2007 -- On the top of a five-tier wedding cake
a small groom figure, camera in hand, films his bride. The miniature
couple were a loving representation of director Jayme Monjardim and
his favorite muse, Brazilian singer Tania Mara, who became his wife
on March 10, 2007, first in a civil ceremony, then in a public blessing
of their love.
Wearing a lace-embellished white dress, a single white
flower adorned the hair of the bride as she walked down the aisle of
the Chapel of Sao Jose das Botas, located on the grounds of Hotel Fazenda
Florenca in Conservatoria, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
The haunting refrain of "Ave Maria," sung by
Elba Ramalho, rang out in the house of worship during the ceremony,
which was witnessed by such esteemed guests as Marcos Frota, Fernanda
Vasconellos, and Regina Duarte.
