The Wedding of Claudia Leitte
March 2007 -- While today the Hotel Convento do Carmo
in Salvador, Brazil has a new life as a luxury retreat, an echo from
its past as a 16th century friary still
pervades the structure, and on the evening of March 7, 2007 it lent
a reverential tone as singer Claudia Leitte clutched a bouquet of white
flowers and began to walk down the aisle toward her love, Marcio Pedreira.
Celebrity guests, including entertainers Durval Lelys
and Cumpadre Washington, bore witness as the bride, dressed in a couture
creation of ivory Italian silk with a lace overlay by Carlos Tufvesson,
exchanged vows with the groom, who chose a dark Alberto Marques suit
for the occasion.
Following a honeymoon night spent in the presidential
suite of the 79-guestroom hotel, the newlyweds embarked on a one-week
trip to Paris.
