Leon's Wedding in Puerto Rico
November 2006 -- As the
reverential melody of "Himno al Amor" echoed in La Iglesia
Metodista Universitaria in San Juan, Puerto Rico on October 14, 2006,
merengue singer Melina Leon took the arm of her 13-year-old son and
began to walk down the aisle toward the man of her dreams, Ruy Fernando
Delgado.
Wedding guests looked on
as the bride, clutching a bouquet of calla lilies, strode past in a
white Luis Antonio gown. A black sash, its somber hue matching the groom's
black on black ensemble, was tied into a bow in the back, the ribbons
trailing atop the bride's cathedral-length train, adding a dramatic
touch to the refined, strapless creation.
