Jodie Kidd Weds Aidan Butler in England
Who:
model Jodie Kidd and entrepreneur Aidan Butler When:
September 10, 2005 Where:
Vows were exchanged inside St. Peter's Church in Twineham,
West Sussex, England. The Ceremony: A menagerie of top British models, including Jade Parfitt, Jasmine Guinness, Liberty Ross and the bride's sister Jemma Kidd (who wed in June 2005) made their way in a procession of luxury automobiles through the picturesque village of Twineham, a town of less than 300 inhabitants, to St. Peter's Church, a 16th century, red brick edifice overlooking a 17th century Quaker burial ground. As photo rights had
been sold to a major entertainment magazine, white sheets obstructed
the bride from the paparazzi's lens as she made her way into the
chapel, where a reverend blessed their union as the groom placed
a wedding band on Jodie's finger to accompany her £30,000
engagement ring. The
Dress: Reports described the bride's attire as an ecru-colored
silk gown reminiscent of a 1930's silver screen goddess, which
was pair with a long lace veil attached to a diamond tiara. The Reception: As the couple's romance shifted into high gear upon their first meeting as competitors at the Gumball Rally race track, it seemed only fitting that a wedding cake fashioned in the form of a race car was served to guests at the All England Jumping Course in Hickstead, a venue that can accommodate up to 250 reception attendees.
