July 2006 --A vision
in a full-length gown patterned in a festive swirl of pink and
white stripes, stylist Katy England walked down the aisle of
St. Margaret's Church in the market town of Betley, Staffordshire
on July 29, 2006 to become the wife of Primal Scream lead singer
Bobby Gillespie.
Assembled guests,
a virtual roster of rock icons including ex-Stone Roses frontman
Ian Brown, punk pioneer Mike Jones of The Clash, former Jesus
and Mary Chain member Douglas Hart, who acted as best man, Jade
Jagger, a model and daughter of Mick Jagger, and actress Sadie
Frost bore witness as the joyous refrain of "I Saw The
Light" rang through the house of worship during a ceremony
which also featured a reading by supermodel Kate Moss.
Following the mid-afternoon
wedding, the groom, who wore a white tuxedo embellished with
floral detailing, and his new bride climbed aboard a horse-drawn
cart for a leisurely ride to Nantwich, Cheshire, where a reception
marquee had been erected on the 38-acre grounds of Rookery Hall
Hotel.
