Olympian Bronwyn Thompson's Wedding in Australia

April 2006 -- From Yellow Flax and Euryops to Acacias and Golden Candles, the blossoms which grace the grounds of Roma Street Parkland in Brisbane, Australia each autumn brought a touch of sunshine to the 16-hectare venue as thunderclouds rolled in on Commonwealth Games gold medalist Bronwyn Thompson's wedding day.

The long jumper had chosen the afternoon of March 31, 2006, the same day as fellow track and field star Jana Pittman, to wed Jason Chipperfield in an intimate civil ceremony.

Before embarking on a honeymoon in Vanuatu, the newlyweds enjoyed slices of a chocolate wedding cake during a reception at Joseph Alexander's restaurant, an upscale eatery offering its patrons a view of the Brisbane River.
