Bollywood's
"Smooch King" Enjoys Official Engagement Ceremony
April 2006 -- Following
his November 2005 announcement to the press that he had found
the love of his life, Bollywood's "smooch king" Emraan
Hashmi took another step toward becoming the husband of pre-school
teacher Parveen Shahani during an official engagement ceremony
held on April 6, 2006 in the city of Bandra, Mumbai at the home
of his intended.
In accordance with
the Sindhi customs of his bride-to-be, the Bollywood star was
the only man present at the intimate, 15 minute kachche misri
ceremony, in which he was presented with sweets while the actor's
mother draped the head of his future wife with a long rectangular
scarf known as a dupatta.
A gift was also
given to the bride-to-be at this time.
To honor the faith
of the prospective groom, a Muslim engagement ceremony will
also be conducted shortly before the couple's December 14, 2006
wedding.
