Gately Celebrates Civil Partnership Ceremony in London
March 2006 -- In
stark contrast to their intimate commitment ceremony at the
Viva Las Vegas wedding chapel in 2003, former Boyzone member
Stephen Gately was united with his love Andy Cowles in a civil
partnership ceremony on March 19, 2006 at Goring Hotel, an Edwardian
era edifice in the heart of London which regally stands adjacent
to the garden wall of Buckingham Palace.
Held two days after
the singer's 30th birthday, the celebration of love was topped
with the exchange of identical diamond and platinum bands worth
$25,000. Although his dreams of a wedding in his hometown of
Dublin were not to be, the entertainer was able to share the
special day with family and friends. Former Spice Girl Emma
"Baby Spice" Bunton, talk show host
Graham Norton and George Michael were among those rumored to
have attended the nuptials.
