Actress Weds in Costa Rica
March 2006 -- Although
officially wed in a civil ceremony held on March 3, 2006 at
the Hotel Marriott in San Jose, Costa Rica, telenovela actress
Carolina Tejera ("Gata Salvaje, "Inocente de Ti")
and her love Don Stockwell were united in holy matrimony the
following day during a religious ceremony conducted at the Basilica
de Nuestra Senora de Los Angeles in Cartago. This site annually
greets thousands of faithful pilgrims who flock to the house
of worship each August 2nd in reverence to La Negrita (The Black
Virgin), the country's patron saint.
Eight hundred guests,
including baseball great Sammy Sosa, actor Esai Morales and
singers Marco Antonio Solis and Ednita Nazario rose from the
rows of wooden pews adorned with arrangements of white roses
and lilies as the bride made her entrance in a white gown created
by Venezuelan designer Samy Gicherman. The garment's Elizabethan
collar, when paired with the dainty tiara which rested upon
the bride's blonde tresses, made a regal statement as the actress
made her way to the altar. A long, diaphanous veil completed
the ethereal look.
Following the evening
nuptials, the newlyweds and their guests convened at The Hotel
Real Intercontinental, where music by El Gran Combo de Puerto
Rico played until the break of day.
