Sir
Antony Sher Weds in London
December 2005 --
While the media spotlight was focused on Elton
John's December 21, 2005 civil union with David Furnish
at Guildhall in Windsor, that same day revered stage and screen
actor Sir Antony Sher quietly wed his love of the last 18 years,
the Royal Shakespeare Company's associate director Greg Doran
at the Islington Registry Office in North London.
In an expression
of his devotion, the star of such award-winning movies as "Mrs.
Brown" and "Shakespeare In Love" read a passage
from "Cyrano de Bergerac" to his partner during the
ceremony, while Mr. Doran chose to recite a sonnet from The
Bard.
