Kasey
Chambers Weds in New South Wales
December 2005 --
For some couples there's no place like home to say "I do,"
and on December 17, 2005 the 20 guests gathered together for
an engagement party were in for a surprise as their hostess,
Australian country crooner Kasey Chambers, began to recite her
vows to Shane Nicholson in a low-key ceremony held in the lovebird's
backyard garden of their Avoca, New South Wales residence.
Stunned though he
was by the impromptu service, the singer's father regained his
composure in order to perform the James Taylor tune "You
Can Close Your Eyes" during the nighttime nuptials.
Following the ceremony
the barefoot bride, who had pledged her troth in a favorite
pair of blue jeans and a white T-shirt, cut slices of a mud
and pavlova wedding cake for her guests as they dined on barbecue.
