Bollywood's Fardeen Khan Weds

Who: Bollywood star Fardeen Khan and Natasha Madhvani

When: December 14, 2005

Where: The couple were united at the Grand Hyatt in Mumbai, India.

The Engagement: When Natasha's mother, the legendary actress Mumtaz, portrayed the love of Fardeen's father, the actor Feroze Khan on the silver screen years ago, little did the two thespians realize that a real life love would bloom between their families with the passing of time. Friends since childhood, Fardeen and Natasha announced their intention to wed on May 5, 2005 at The Hempel Hotel in London.

Pre-wedding Festivities: One day prior to the nuptials guests gathered at the JW Marriott in Mumbai for a traditional mehendi ceremony, in which the bride-to-be's hands were adorned with red henna designs by mehendi artist to the stars Veena Nagda. Later, a variety of platters including paneer seekh, chicken tikka and pita bread was served to attendees during a sangeet, or musical ceremony.

The Ceremony: Recipients of a wedding invitation designed by the groom's sister, artist Laila Khan Rajpal, convened at the five-star Grand Hyatt to witness a civil ceremony.

The Dress: The bride declared her devotion to her new husband in a traditional ghaghra choli--a floor-length crimson and red skirt paired with a gold blouse which showcased the bride's petite physique. A red and gold veil added the finishing touch to the ensemble.

Fashion designer Shahid Amir, the mastermind behind all of Fardeen Khan's stylish on-screen wardrobe, created a royal blue sherwani (a knee-length coat) for the occasion, embellished with embroidery and Swarovski crystals.

The Reception: An array of Indian fare, such as Lagan Ka Murg, Dum Gosht Biryani, and Amchuri Bhindi Babycom was served alongside such Western delicacies as cilantro fried fish, roast chicken with fusilli and cherry tomatoes and chicken breast with teriyaki sauce to the two thousand guests in attendance at the Grand Ballroom and courtyard of The Grand Hyatt on December 16, 2005.
