Who: Christina
Aguilera and music executive Jordan Bratman
When: November
19, 2005
Where: The
couple were united in matrimony during a 6 P.M. ceremony held
at the Staglin Family Winery in Napa Valley, California.
Where Have I
Seen The Venue Before?
The sun-soaked vineyards and ivy-bedecked Italian-style villa
which overlooks the estate are familiar sites to fans for the
1998 remake of the Disney classic The Parent Trap, starring
a young Lindsay Lohan.
The Bachelorette
Parties:
Celebrations for the upcoming nuptials began in September with
a bachelorette party in Cabo San Lucas. The all-girl troupe
stayed at The One & Only Palmilla resort when not partying
at Cabo Wabo and the restaurant Mi Casa, where the songbird
was spotted wearing a "bride-to-be" diadem and veil.
In October parties
for both the prospective bride and groom were held at the Hard
Rock Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas.
Pre-wedding Festivities:
A white Phantom Rolls Royce brought guests to the Auberge du
Soleil resort in style for days of pre-wedding entertainment,
which included a Japanese-themed rehearsal dinner. As the bride
and groom felt that the love and support of family and friends
was all they required to make their wedding day complete, Christina
and Jordan requested that attendees send donations to charities
helping the victims of hurricanes Katrina and Rita in lieu of
gifts.
The Ceremony:
Like so many couples before them, including Jessica
Simpson and Nick Lachey, Shaunie
Nelson and Shaquille O'Neal and Gwen
Stefani and Gavin Rossdale, Christina and her love turned
to one-time top South American fashion designer Edgar Zamora
of Revelry Event Planning to create the look of their dream
nuptials. The stirring voices of a gospel choir announced the
arrival of the bride as she began her walk down the aisle in
front of 130 guests, including actress Sharon Stone.
The ceremony was
a family affair, with even the couple's three dogs in attendance,
and as the groom's brother and bride's sister stood by their
siblings in the roles of best man and maid of honor Christina
received a Stephen Webster-designed wedding band to accompany
her 5-carat engagement ring.
The Dress:
The bejeweled white flowers which graced the singer's platinum
blonde locks sparkled beneath a lace-trimmed veil that honored
the bride's Hispanic heritage, its diaphanous material casading
over the snow white, v-necked gown created by Christian Lacroix.
The bride's attendants donned dresses fashioned by Kai Milla.
The Reception:
The soothing strains of a 14-piece orchestra had serenaded the
couple during the ceremony, and as guests gathered inside a
white tent erected on the grounds for the occasion the bride
took the mike to perform a touching rendition of "At Last"
before stirring up the crowd with "Lady Marmelade."
The Honeymoon:
Although the festivities had continued well into the early
morning hours the newlyweds, who spent their first night as
husband and wife back at Auberge du Soleil, were seen strolling
arm in arm through the streets of St. Helene the following day.
The couple dropped by the stationery store Pennyweight and selected
toys for their canine companions at Fideaux before grabbing
lunch at Taylor's Refresher.
