2006 Air Jamaica Jazz and Blues Festival Grows

November 2005 -- There are plenty of good reasons for couples to escape the cold weather and visit Jamaica in January but, for jazz lovers, there's a big draw: the Air Jamaica Jazz and Blues Festival. Scheduled from January 26-28, this year's lineup will include Byron Lee, Shaggy, James Ingram, Al Green, and Air Supply and more.

The latest addition to the list is four-time Vibe Award nominee and winner of MOBO Award for Best R & B Artist, John Legend. Riding high on the successful major label debut of his album "Get Lifted", Legend has earned his reputation as a singer, songwriter, pianist - delivering classic R & B, with a spin. Legend will perform on the first evening of the three-day festival.

The festival will be held at the Rose Hall Resort & Country Club in Montego Bay.

The Lineup

The lineup includes:

  • Thursday, January 26: Shaggy, John Legend, Lyfe Jennings, Morgan Heritage
  • Friday, January 27: Al Green, Air Supply, Nestor Torres, and Richie Stephens
  • Saturday, January 28: James Ingram, Maxi Priest and Kem.

Additional performers will be added to the line-up.
