Swarovski
Heir Weds in Glittery Ceremony
October 2005--The
sparkle of Swarovski crystals have become de rigeur for today's
bridal attire, but on October 22, 2005 it was Fiona Swarovski's
day to shine, as the heiress to the crystal empire wed Austria's
finance minister Karl-Heinz Grasser in one of the most talked
about society events of the season.
In a rain-soaked
vineyard in Weissenkirchen the brilliant glare of sunlight cast
upon the droplets of water which clung to the grape leaves mirrored
that of the Swarovski crystal butterfly pendant on the bride's
knee-length, ivory gown as she pledged her love to her intended.
As their vows were recited, a plane hovering overhead showered
the couple with 12,000 rose petals.
Following the ceremony,
the bride tossed her bouquet of pink roses to the ladies in
attendance before embarking on a 40-mile journey to Vienna,
where the couple enjoyed a reception at Ristorante Meini.
